BOWEL CANCER
My brother and I are doing the Jodi Lee Foundation Trek on Sat May 17th. The Jodi Lee foundation are a bowel cancer charity in honour of Jodi Lee who was diagnosed at just 39yo with bowel cancer and sadly died just before she turned 41yo.
We have some personal experience with bowel cancer (as do many) - our grandfather had bowel cancer and we remember the stress and significance of the illness and colostomy. In addition, I have inherited a familial polyposis syndrome and we both need surveillance colonoscopies. So I have some top tips for bowel prep if anyone wants/needs?! ๐
If you are able to spare a few $ towards the cause and to boost us through our trek, that would be greatly appreciated. Neither of us are in optimal fitness, but we are pushing each other. And itโs a great experience to have together.
Thank you in advance! And happy bowel cancer screening everyone!!!
A reminder that bowel cancer is becoming an increasing problem in younger population. The screening age has recently reduced to 45yo and should be earlier if you have a strong family history. Guess who would be able to let you know your risk and give you a kit - YOUR GP ๐ฉโโ๏ธ๐
