We want to take a moment to thank everyone who continues to support our little op shop through donations and shopping with us, we truly couldn’t do what we do without you.
However, over the past month we have really struggled to keep up with the large amount of donations being dumped outside the shop when we are closed. Unfortunately, items left outside are often damaged by weather, vandalism, or are simply not suitable for resale. This means a lot of it cannot be used and must be thrown away.
As a small, non-for-profit op shop, the cost of bin collections adds up very quickly, and sadly we can’t afford to be paying to dispose of other people’s rubbish. This has a real impact on our ability to continue supporting our community.
We kindly ask that donations are only brought in during business hours and not left outside the shop. We have signage on our windows that explains this, along with a list of items we are unable to accept, including:
Electrical items
Large/bulky items (we are a very small shop)
Used bedding such as pillows and doonas
ANY BABY ITEMS such as car seats prams cots prams!
