On Friday 9th June we put to rest Grandmaster Dr Jon Puxty, founder of Koshu K'empo Karate. Grandmaster Puxty is both a warrior and a healer, a tough and strong man that worked on the farm, and a gentle man that healed so very many people over his life. A kind soul who never asked for anything, and willing to give the shirt off his back, yet a strong protector of his family, keeping them always safe. But first and foremost, he was a teacher. Nobody crossed his path without learning something. Grandmaster Puxty was wise beyond compare, he had a thirst for knowledge and he would share that knowledge with everyone. He is remembered by his wife Christine, and children Jason, Ingrid and Nathan and their spouses; and by his grandchildren Tyrolin, Ben, Jessica and Harry.
Koshu K'empo Karate will continue under the instruction of Instructor Ingrid and supported by sister club, Goshu Kan and Sensei Tony Lucisano.
We farewell Grandmaster Dr Jon K Puxty with an old Norse prayer dedicated by his son Jason:
Lo, There do I see my Father, and
Lo, there do I see my Mother, and
Lo, There do I see my Brothers and my Sisters and
Lo, There do I see my people back to the begining, and
Lo they do call to me, and
bid me take my place among them in the halls of Valhalla,
Where the brave will live forever.
Dated around 100 through 110 A.D.
