Been a busy January spending time with our participants and having a good time with them. We love what we do - we are Almost Family Community Services!

Chappy was in Darwin for respite recently. The time flew by as we had so much fun. From attending footy games to playing pool to shopping to many other activities around Darwin.
It was our pleasure supporting Chappy who is very well known in football community and is a proud Tiwi Man.
Thanks Chappy for sharing your amazing stories from back home with us. We had a great time with you and look forward to see you again soon!

What a magical night it was at Deck Chair Cinema watching Gurrumul —different clans, yet deeply connected. We all felt it, and we all enjoyed it. Jenny from Galiwinku and is family to Gurrumul, Colin from Gunbalanya, Jerome and Teresia from Tiwi Islands, Ron from Rockhampton and Torres Strait and Bernie grew up in Darwin.
On the way home, we listened to Gurrumul’s incredible voice. It was Pure Magic.

✈️Delilah recently travelled from the beautiful Tiwi Islands to Darwin for respite care with Almost Family Community Services — and what an amazing week it was!

Her visit kicked off with an incredible highlight: attending an art exhibition featuring her very own work 🎨✨ What an amazing and proud moment!

Over the following days, Delilah enjoyed community access outings, including beachside art, touring the museum, a magical evening at the Deckchair Cinema under the stars, plenty of relaxing moments exploring what Darwin has to offer and of course some downtime doing her much loved hobby of jigsaw puzzles.

She also made time to prioritise her wellbeing with a physiotherapy appointment with her caring Physio team.

We’re honoured to have supported Delilah during her stay — creating safe spaces where fun, laughter, connection and care come together🩵
