SESSION SNEAK PEAK

One of the keys to our sessions is that they’re designed in a highly collaborative way, taking into account the preferences of both the participant and the horse (as much as I can).

On this afternoon, one of our lovely young people who knows Toby well asked about doing some grooming and plaiting his mane…and my observations of Toby that day were that this might be something he’d be up for.

While this activity happened, we had the opportunity to observe lots of Toby’s tiny behaviours that might otherwise go unnoticed. We could discuss what we were seeing, as well as relate those to what we might see in ourselves, providing a low pressure learning experience all wrapped up in a beautiful afternoon in the paddock.

RESCHEDULED!

Due to the wild weather from TC Narelle, our 'Know Your Nervous System' workshop with Charlotte Moore - Neurofocused Solutions had to be postponed, and has now been rescheduled to Saturday 18 April 2026.

However, we do still have a couple of tickets available on our new date so if you weren't able to join us previously but are keen to do so now to learn all about how to regulate yours or your child's nervous system, get in touch with us at arcadiaholisticlearning@outlook.com.

We are so excited to be hosting the amazing program at Arcadia and to play a small part in bringing this training to WA.

Kylie’s work encourages us to be reflective, to challenge our assumptions and beliefs, and to build a foundation of integrity and safety in the work that we do.

If you’re involved in equine-assisted practice, regardless of your specific field, and are looking for the next step in your training, I cannot recommend this highly enough. Plus you’ll also get to spend the four days with Eden, Beans and Toby! 🐴

LAST CHANCE TO BOOK!

We still have a few tickets left to our 'Know Your Nervous System' workshop with clinical neuroscientist Charlotte Moore - Neurofocused Solutions, which is only 2 weeks away! This is a wonderful opportunity to learn more about how our brains process emotions and develop a toolkit that can be applied to help yourself, your children or those you work with.

The workshop is tailored to be supportive of a range of learning styles and will be limited to a small group to allow for a more personalised approach.

I can't recommend Charlotte's work highly enough and I'm so excited for the opportunity to share it with you.

LET’S GET GROUNDED

We start each session with a grounding activity to bring us into the present moment with the horses, and to try to minimise some of the stress or worries we might have been feeling before the session began.

Do you recognise the bird calls?

In a world that encourages us to rush, to think big, and to be busy, it is so valuable to spend some quiet time noticing the small things.

These workshops will take place in the paddocks of Arcadia, and are designed for anyone who would like to develop a toolkit for emotional regulation.

Welcome back for another exciting year at Arcadia Holistic Learning.

As we begin this year, I thought it might be time for a little reintroduction.

My name is Sarah, and together with my amazing herd, we work to help young people approach learning in a new way...whether that be learning about ourselves, others or the world around us.

I couldn't do this work without the support of Beans, Eden and Toby.

Beans, a Thorougbred, is usually the first to greet you at the gate and is the leader of our little herd.

Eden, a Friesan X, is a quiet and calm old boy (he'll be 35 this year!) who is always good when you need to reset and reregulate.

Toby, a mini X Shetland, is the youngest and newest of our herd, and while he takes some time to get to know new people, he really appreciates those who are patient with him.

What a beautiful opportunity to stop, reflect and enjoy just being in the moment.

Nothing like a very crisp morning to clear your mind and bring you into the present moment. It might be freezing, but it was also beautiful!

SESSION SNEAK PEAK

Checking in at the start of a session is really important because it not only provides an opportunity for self-reflection, but it allows me an opportunity to gauge how a person is feeling and therefore what activities might suit them best.

However, sometimes using words to describe our own emotions can be hard, so this is another way our horses can help us. Using the beautiful cards from we can identify how we’re feeling based on the cards that resonate most with us.

In this session, my client chose Friendly, Free and Kind. What a beautiful place to be for the start of a session!

A wonderful day yesterday presenting at the ADHD Conference in Perth.

It was exciting to speak with so many families, teachers and professionals committed to supporting young people with ADHD.
