We are shaped by sound and emotion before we take our first breath. The rhythms we experienced in the womb: heartbeat, breath, voice, become the templates through which our nervous system learns to regulate.
The womb is a symphony of sound: the rhythmic pulse of the mother’s heartbeat, the whoosh of blood through vessels, the rumble of digestion, the resonance of her voice transmitted through bone and tissue.
Likewise, we are shaped by emotion. A fetus experiences all as a unified sensory-emotional event
Cultivating positive emotions, the quality of a teacher’s voice, the resonance of chanting, the rhythm of practice and yes, the quality of our breath—all engage these ancient, hardwired pathways of regulation and connection.
If you are feeling the call to explore these pathways to self, you couldn’t be in better hands than those of Nitya Mohan.
We’d love you to join us July 24-26 for Strength Through Mantra. All Earlybird allocation has sold out. Registrations and details at our website.
