I’m getting bigger everyday. I have so much to learn which includes not eating the clinics toys! This is very hard as they are so tempting and I’m still learning by chewing and putting things in my mouth. So while I’m in the clinic I’m tethered so I don’t damage the toys!

The team at Elanora Speech will be back in the office on Monday the 5th of January and seeing clients again on Wednesday the 7th of January. In the meantime we are recharging our batteries and getting things ready for a busy 2026! Sootie is busy learning to be a therapy dog - join her journey on her page.

Please welcome the newest member of the team Sootie. Sootie is our new therapy dog in training. She’s an 8 week old Jack-Russel Foxy cross so she’s going to stay pretty small. She’s been raised with small children and loved being pushed in a pram and helping with cuddles when on the IPad. Dogs have an amazing ability to help children and adults with their regulation so she’s will be a valued team member.

We had a little visitor who came with their hooman this week to Speech Therapy. She was super cute and I enjoyed the snuggles. Dogs are amazing for emotional well being for all people!

This is what child led therapy looks like! My little friend searched through the Duplo in the office to find the pieces he was looking for. He named some of them and handed some to me and gestured for me to take them to the tent and arranged them.

The past three weeks have been extremely challenging for myself and Darla at Elanora Heights Speech & Language Clinic. We would like to express our sincere gratitude to our families for their understanding during our temporary offline period. We have farewelled our Ompa, contracted COVID, and rushed our fur girl to the 24-hour veterinary clinic after she suffered a seizure, necessitating emergency surgery to remove her spleen. Tomorrow, we will be back in the clinic, we look forward to seeing you soon for your scheduled speech sessions. Thank you for your understanding. Michelle & Darla

We are at Reggio Emilia Ealry Learning Centre today, 10-1, celebrating their 5th Birthday. We are so happy to work with the Staff at Reggio in Dee Why to support their children with their developing communication. We are in the Rainbow room, feel free to come and say hello!
