Brisbane Paleo Family I am a Nutritional Therapy Practitioner, REAL FOOD advocate and host of the Low Carb Conversations New to Paleo or not sure what Paleo is?

We are a Brisbane family of four following the Paleo lifestyle the best we can! I am passionate about Paleo after loosing 30kg and regaining my zest for life. I am so passionate about Paleo that I organise the Brisbane Paleo Meetup Group http://www.meetup.com/Paleo-Brisbane/. A group for like-minded people discussing all things Paleo and Brisbane. LOW CARB DOWN UNDER CONFERENCE BRISBANE 2025

Last week we held the annual Low Carb Down Under conference. I’ve been involved in helping organise the event for many years. Here are a few snapshots of the 3 days. The event not only includes many fabulous speakers in this space but also great low carb food, a cocktail party, a dinner and the chance to connect with a like-minded community. I was honoured to speak at the Heath Coaches Australia New Zealand (HCANZA) national conference last week. I shared about the great work we are doing at the using a shared patient model. The health coach plays an integral role in bridging the gap so the patient can meet the dietary and lifestyle recommendations from the Doctor. This allows the Doctor do what they do best and allows the Health Coach do what they do best! This helps improve patient outcomes with support and accountability from the coach. ☀️

The damage this “myth” has caused 🤦‍♀️ and now “new” research says eggs are back on the plate 🙄 no wonder the average person is confused as to what to eat! Just eat the egg in fact eat as many as you like as this real food will not cause CVD like your deep fried, hyperpalatable packaged foods will guarantee to 😬

Hi Everyone 👋 It’s me Leah 🤗 I haven’t posted on the grid for a while but here I am ☺️ In recent years life threw a few curve balls I wasn’t prepared for. I took a little step back from just nutrition (although it’s always with me) and focused on yoga and wellbeing while studying for my Board exam in Health Coaching. After I sat the Board, I was having perimenopausal symptoms and was highly inflamed. Following my regular dietary paradigm of paleo/real food/low carb was simply not helping. Through working with Dr Ravi at I discovered my leptin was high and my circadian rhythm out of sync. Basically I was blue light toxic. After following the protocols in the clinic and harnessing the healing power of the Sun ☀️ I’m feeling much more energised than I have in years! So much so I’m boxing 4-5 times a week and loving it. I still believe diet plays a role but the circadian reset is the game changer. I’ll be sharing more here on the grid but you can now find me at the helping with diet and lifestyle changes supporting your circadian rhythm.

Are you running on empty? Struggling to get everything done in the day? Anxious, overwhelmed by everything, tired but wired?

And then someone tells you "You should take a rest" and you feel 🤯🤯🤯

Oh, I totally get it! It can be so hard to switch from the "doing" to "being" which is where I find the benefits of a Restorative Yoga class really help. There are other ways you can schedule rest in - but have you tried Restorative Yoga? Because when you do you will know what I mean! Who is with me in this?🥰🙌

Why Restorative Yoga?

🌟Restorative Yoga is a tool for taking rest and relaxation in the form of around an hour or so class (even better if you can take a longer class!)
🌟Restorative yoga can help you rest your body. If your body is fatigued then the floor based poses and props will help you find true rest.
🌟Restorative Yoga will help you to rest your mind - give your brain a break from the constant thinking. Soothe your nervous system and be held in a calm environment.
🌟Help Peri+Menopause symptoms of irritability, heat and anger with soothing, cooling poses.
🌟Restorative Yoga is suitable for all abilities

But how I get started I hear you say?
🫶 Find a class locally that offer restorative yoga
🫶 As you are not moving too much, wear comfy, flowy clothes that you like to rest and feel comfortable in
🫶 You might like to bring your favourite blanket (I have a special nanna blanket), bolster/ pillows, eye mask (many places will have these but I always like to take my own)

I am offering an 8 Week Restorative Yoga class starting Tuesday 23 April at@wombtoworld.aus Greenslopes. Joining a term based class will allow the benefit of a weekly commitment to really learn and understand the poses and how they work for you and your body. This group only has 6 people so that we can really make sure we are supported without the noise and distraction of a larger group.
