Can I have Chiropractic if I’m Pregnant?

Is a common question that’s often asked throughout all different stages of pregnancy. The good news is that the answer is YES!! You can receive chiropractic care from the early stages all the way through until full term with the aid of pelvic blocking (early stages) and our pregnancy pillow (when bump grows) as seen above 👆🏻

The belly pillow allows pregnant ladies to lie flat onto their stomach until full term, which often provides a huge relief, as lying directly onto the stomach via a flat surface is quite uncomfortable and dangerous to the baby. The techniques we utilise are very similar to the ones we use in everyday patients with a few slight modifications to treatment.

Plantar Fasciitis is a musculoskeletal condition that most commonly affects the heel and inner arch of the foot. It’s characterised but sharp pain first thing in the morning, when pressure is applied when standing, and eases the more you move around. Most commonly, plantar fasciitis it caused by repetitive use of the calf muscles (gastrocnemius and soleus) but also from incorrect footwear.

Chiropractic techniques including ankle mobilisations, interferential machine, dry needling, percussion, graston and rehabilitation exercises are the key to managing your plantar fasciitis. Paediatric Chiropractic!

It’s never to early to start your chiropractic journey

Treating adults is very different to treating paediatric patients. We use a gentle palpation approach when finding fixations, soft tissue modalities including percussive techniques to loosen tight muscles, and utilise the activator to unlock segments that are restricted. During the early stages post birth, cranial work, stomach work and hip mobility are at the forefront of treatment to ensure everything is developing correctly to prevent problems down the track

And yes there is no cracking or popping of any joints until the skeleton can handle the pressures of a manual manipulation
