Out and About at Little Sherwood Petting Zoo!

Over the weekend our team supported one of our participants on a fun and engaging community outing to Little Sherwood Petting Zoo. It was an amazing day filled with connection, sensory experiences, and lots of animal cuddles!

Our participant loved spending time with the friendly goats, meeting the baby animals, and exploring the different enclosures. We even enjoyed a relaxed picnic lunch together before heading off for a wander through the local op-shops.

Days like this are all about building confidence, supporting independence, and creating meaningful moments in the community and we’re so proud to be part of it.

Hi everyone 🌻
This week (19–25 October) is Invisible Disabilities Week, and I wanted to share a reminder that not all disabilities are visible.

Many people live with conditions that aren’t obvious to others — and that can make it harder to get the understanding or support they might need in everyday situations.

That’s why I think the Hidden Disabilities Sunflower is such a powerful symbol. 🌻 It quietly lets others know that someone may need a bit more time, patience, or support — without needing to explain everything.

As support workers, you already do so much to recognise and respond to individual needs — and I just want to say thank you. 💛
