Life lately ——

You may have noticed me being a lot less present on here.. life has been full - in a good way! The universe had some big changes in store and as a result the last couple of months evolved into a bit of a pivot career wise with amazing opportunities opening up in my OT work at the hospital 🏥 and I am absolutely loving diving into this more!

That doesn’t mean that .blue_ is no longer, but is more that my energy lately has been directed towards establishing myself in my new role and making those essential lifestyle shifts around this.

I am still providing 1:1 nutrition and health coaching and am open to taking on new clients this year for 3 month programs.

I endeavour to get back into the groove of posting regular nutrition, health and wellness content on here again - so watch this space! 🥑

These are negative terms I hear thrown around a lot when it comes to body image..

And you know what, I’m not buying into it.

I refuse to speak negatively and refuse to body shame myself or others.

Over the years I’ve learnt to love my “flaws” and love my body for what it can do rather than what it looks like. I focus on how strong and healthy I am rather then get caught up on any cellulite or dimples on my butt.

I embrace any imperfections as it makes me who I am. Love me or leave me ✌🏼

You only have one body, there is only one you Learn to love the skin you are in and treat your body with respect and kindness by what you do to it, how you nourish it and show up for it such as movement, nutrition, gratitude, journaling, meditation and self-care.

How are you setting yourself up for a successful week?

These are the ways I like to set myself up for the week ahead:

- Do the groceries & meal prep my work lunches and breakfasts
- Plan my week out in my diary including any appointments, my schedule and daily non-negotiables such as journaling, gratitude, movement & meditation
- Tidy and organise the house
- Schedule in some self-care - this week for me it’s 2x Infrared saunas and a remedial massage

Try some of these tips to reduce your bloating:

Move your body daily

Avoid artificial sweeteners

Add spices to your food

Consume salt in moderation

Eat your plants - cook them to aid digestion!

Keep hydrated

Consume Probiotics

Avoid inflammatory foods/drinks

Chew your food LOTS and eat SLOWLY

Avoid drinking fluids with food

Often poor gut health/imbalances can contribute to chronic or reoccurring bloating. You often need to get to the root cause of the bloating and heal the gut over time to get resolution of symptoms.

Walking into the new year with intention, fresh energy and big dreams in mind 🌴

I urge you to take the opportunity today to reflect on the year that was, the wins, losses and every messy thing between. What did you learn? In what way did you grow? Accept what was and show gratitude for the past year - close that chapter.

Now shift your focus to the present. Take the opportunity to journal what you would like to get out of this brand new year.

What do you want to do more of? Less of?

What are your core values? How are you intending to live in alignment with these?

What are 3 focus areas for this year? Be it in health, relationships, career or family life. I prefer to frame these as focuses or intentions rather than goals - there is no failure if you don’t achieve them that way - it’s more a conscious awareness, motivation and direction

And lastly imagine you are at the end of 2023, it’s been 12 months, 365 days of living, learning and loving - what have you achieved? How do you feel? What does your life look like in that very moment? Who are you sharing this with? Visualise yourself having achieved everything that your heart desires in the year of 2023. Soak it all in - in all the details - write it down - and reflect on it often - this is manifesting ✨

May this year be one of happiness, love and abundant health!
