I’ve had seasons where I was fitter,
Seasons where I was stronger,
When I’ve been a size 8 and where I’ve fit a size 14.
In none of those was I better or worse at my role as a personal trainer.
As a Personal Trainer you should absolutely have knowledge and experience in a gym environment, and you should practice what you preach.
But to niche down such a broad market and expect all personal trainers to look a certain type of way is ignorant.
This industry is vast, as are the leaders within it.
I don’t need a six pack to show you how to live a life of balance.
I don’t need to have 10% body fat to coach you on how to do a squat.
If your goal is to get stage ready though, I’m not your girl.
But there will be a personal trainer out there who is, and they might just have 10% body fat and a six pack to boot.
Depending on our specialty areas (and our own CURRENT goals), any trainer will look different.
Allow me to cut the rant here and simply say, do not judge the credibility of a coach based solely on their physique.
And if you are looking for a personal trainer, choose them based on their focus areas, their experience, their knowledge and your connection with them.
