A very HAPPY BIRTHDAY goes out to Barbara, who is 99 today! Congratulations Barb on 99 wonderful years! Fun fact: Barbara has played an iconic part in Newcastle's history, working at the famous David Jones for many years!

IMPORTANT NOTICE: ROADWORKS MYALL ROAD CARPARK – LIMITED ACCESS

We would like to inform you of roadworks (bitumen replacement) taking place from the entrance to Maroba (Myall Road) through to the pedestrian crossing. These works will cause some disruption with traffic flow from Monday 13th April 2026 until Monday 20th April 2026.
On Monday 13th of April access to the Myall Road entry and first car park will be blocked off to undergo necessary roadworks. The roadworks will be completed in one day however the area will not be available for parking until Monday 20th April 2026.
After 3pm on Monday 13th April until Monday 20th April, the area will be accessible for flow through traffic only.
We ask, if possible, that you delay your visit on Monday 13th until after 3pm. If however, there are special circumstances where you need to access the front of the building (eg taking a resident to a medical appointment) please let reception know the details and we will look at alternative arrangements.
Parking during the week will be constrained especially during the day, so visitors are kindly asked to utilise on-street parking where possible or plan alternate transportation arrangements for their visit (such as pickup and drop off).
We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause and thank you for your understanding.

What a wonderful day we had celebrating together at our beach and sea–themed party! 🌊☀️

Residents enjoyed a fantastic concert by Adam Price, followed by a delicious luncheon. The room was filled with laughter, dancing, and plenty of smiling faces as everyone embraced the fun seaside atmosphere.

It was truly a joyful day for our residents, staff, and visitors — thank you to everyone who helped make it such a special celebration! 🐚🎶

A very HAPPY BIRTHDAY goes out to the beautiful Mary Blackford OAM for last week. Mary received an Order of Australia Medal in 2019, after retiring the year before at 85 years of age. Mary was recognised for her contribution to the local area, which involved: teaching swimming, supporting the elderly, providing housing to migrants, extensive involvement with her Church and the forming of Wallsend Volunteers. We hope you had a day as wonderful as you are Mary and we thank you for everything you have done for your community!

Here at Maroba, we believe you're never too old for an Easter Egg Hunt! This afternoon our residents were given riddles and clues to solve that lead them on an Easter egg hunt around the Manor! There were plenty of smiles & lots of healthy competition!

The beautiful Judith is 90 years young today! Judith was a receptionist and news typist for the ABC, and was the inspiration to open up ABC shops around Australia! Judith has also travelled the world and is quite the movie buff! Congratulations on 90 wonderful years Judith. HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

Did you know? Ailsa H was an avid scuba diver and Ailsa D is retired registered nurse who was recently featured in our Maroba connect. Faye celebrated her birthday with one of her favourite things in life, flowers. Colin turned 99 and celebrated with a big family party that included a pipe band! Happy Birthday everyone!
