Perimenopause is the phase in a woman's life before menopause characterised by fluctuations in their hormone levels, especially oestrogen. Women may experience a range of symptoms including hot flushes, mood changes, sleep changes, fatigue, vaginal dryness and period problems. Because they are still having a period, they are told it can't be menopause. If you would like to discuss your symptoms, you will need a referral from your GP. Don't give up. There is something you can do and claim your life back.
