I'm Tanya Delzotto, owner and operator of Delzo Active; a fitness business based in Newcastle, Australia. After many years working at a desk in the graphic design/advertising world and feeling the effects on my body, I decided to make a career change into the fitness world. My passion lies in getting as many people as I can to move their body in a safe and supported way. I'm here to show you how much fun you can have with exercise, it's simply about finding your fitness tribe to cheer you on. These weekends are a chance for you to escape the busyness of life and step into a beautiful setting where you can move your body, connect with like minded souls, enjoy delicious food prepared by our private chef and relax amongst nature. What better way to relook at your fitness routine, reset your mind and to experience real social connections. Our Escapes are held in different locations close to Sydney, NSW throughout the year.

Everybody has different reasons for attending our weekend escapes, whether it's to take time out and really "retreat", squeeze in as much exercise as they can or reconnect with themselves and/or others. I hope to inspire and motivate you to get out there and make the most of your amazing body and the beautiful outdoors we are blessed to have right at our doorstep. Our friendly and welcoming community will support you as well and ensure you walk away with a big smile on your face and feeling fit and healthy when you head home. We've had a small change to our weekend escape coming up in 5 weeks time. But, we're very excited to welcome Corryne from Flamingo Flare Events to be our private chef for the weekend 🤩
With over 20 years of experience in the wellness and catering industries, Corryne Parkhill is a culinary expert who brings a deep passion for healthy, nourishing food to every plate. Having honed her skills at the award-winning Golden Door Health Retreat in the Hunter Valley, Corryne has mastered the art of creating vibrant, nutritious meals that taste as good as they make you feel. Her holistic approach to cooking focuses on fresh, high-quality ingredients that promote wellness, making her catering the perfect blend of delicious and nourishing.
We cannot wait to see what Corryne whips up in the kitchen at our Soulful Spring Escape.

Deb joined us for her very first weekend escape in March this year, at our Tranquil Autumn Escape in Port Stephens. This was a super special weekend with lots of laughs with a group of beautiful souls and in a peaceful location. I was interested to see what she had to say about her experience:
⭐️ Why did you decide to sign up to an Escape?
I had been following Delzo Active for quite some time and loved the look of the escapes. I was also needing to getaway for a break.

The classes were great! Tanya tailored classes to suit all fitness levels and made everyone feel welcome and in a safe space.
⭐️ What would you say are 3 benefits of joining
The biggest thing for me was having time out and disconnecting. I was able to reset! I felt like I had been away longer than a weekend. The laughs and connections were great.

“I’m trying very hard not to connect with people right now.” David Rose
Last night we celebrated one of our beautiful friends birthday 🥰 Some of these friend's are my longest since uni days and our friendships have never changed over the years. There are always lots of laughs and good stories, we simply pick up right where we left off, no matter how much time has passed.
It's the comfort of shared memories, inside jokes, and the knowledge that we've all been through so many chapters of our lives together. At the same time, meeting new friends last night, brings fresh perspectives, new experiences, and the excitement and chance to create new memories.
Life is this incredible balance of holding on to the people who know us best while opening our hearts to those who will help shape our future. I'm so grateful for both old and new friends who make the journey more meaningful, fun, and full of love and laughter 🩷

Sadly, you aren't alone 😕
Lower back pain is a common issue that can affect anyone, whether you're sitting at a desk all day or physically active. Fortunately, incorporating simple stretches into your daily routine can help relieve discomfort and hopefully prevent future pain.
Here are 3 simple stretches you can do every day, and of course there are many others you can do as well. Consistently doing these stretches can improve posture, enhance mobility, and promote a stronger, healthier spine. A few minutes a day can make all the difference in keeping your lower back pain-free and flexible!

✨The Power of Sound ✨
I first experienced the power of sound when I treated myself to an amazing retreat at Gaia Retreat & Spa, it was a beautiful session, that evoked not only calmness but feelings that are quite hard to put into words, some that come to mind are; relaxed, emotive, connected. Then I was lucky enough to experience these moments again in a different form, when I met the very talented Siddhi Shakti.
Siddhi is an inspired chant and mantra meditation leader, sacred musician and sound and energy healer. She channels the power of sacred sound to awaken greater connection with Self. Her sessions help clear energetic baggage enabling more inner peace, empowerment and authenticity. A certified yoga of sound (nāda yoga) teacher, her guidance on sacred Sanskrit sounds helps clients lift their mantra practice to new dimensions.
We are so excited Siddhi will be coming to share her skills with us at our Soulful Spring Escape in November. This session will be gentle, simple and fun, with no previous experience necessary. Siddhi will guide us in the formation of specific vocal toning sounds, using live music and the healing power of your own resonance with high vibrational sound and through these sounds you can access deeper states of meditation. If you’re not comfortable making sound, you can simply sit and absorb the healing vibrations and use it as a means to experience a meditative state.
The use of sound, particularly sacred and energised sound, filled with love, intent and a high vibration, can help us effect deep change, healing and transformation. On a physical level it can support stress reduction. Spiritually, it helps us expand our hearts, lift our spirit, connect with others, and align our resonance and frequency to more positive attributes, bringing greater alignment between mind, body and spirit. There are so health and wellness benefits to this practise.

Spring, with its themes of renewal and growth, is a perfect time to engage in practices that align with these energies. Here are some soulful activities you might consider during spring:
🌼 Meditation in Nature: Spend time meditating outdoors, connecting with the earth, and absorbing the energy of the blooming world around you.
🌼 Cleansing and Smudging: Spring is a time for clearing out old, stagnant energy. You can cleanse your home or personal space with sage, palo santo, or other cleansing herbs, setting the intention to release negativity and invite fresh, positive energy.
🌼 Planting with Intention: Gardening is such a calming and mindful thing to do in Spring. As you plant seeds, you can set intentions for growth and abundance in your life.

The Japanese culture constantly blows me away with the beautiful words they have to describe moments and things 💜
This word, "Seijaku" is highly valued and is often associated with environments or moments that foster deep reflection, inner peace, and a sense of harmony.
Seijaku is a key concept in various traditional Japanese arts and practices, such as Zen Buddhism, tea ceremonies, and garden design. In these contexts, it encourages the creation of spaces and moments that allow for quiet contemplation and a deep connection with nature or one's inner self. The concept can be seen in the minimalistic and harmonious designs of Japanese gardens, where simplicity and balance create an atmosphere of peace.

It's the ideal time to step away from daily commitments and focus on personal growth and join our final weekend escape for 2024!
Come and connect with us at Noonaweena nestled amongst nature in the Central Coast hinterland and enjoy exquisite views of Yengo National Park. Noonaweena means resting place in the bush, and on arriving at this stunning location, you instantly feel at home and completely relaxed.
I'm super excited about this escape, not only are we exploring a new location, we also have some extra special wellness experts joining us to share their skills as well. Rise and Shine: Fuel Your Day with a Power Breakfast! 👇
Breakfast has to be my favourite meal of the day, I love it! (Let's face it, I love all food 😂). But there really is nothing better than starting your day off right, with a yummy breakfast to set you up for the day ahead.
Lately I've switched from yoghurt, homemade granola and berries TO Overnight Oats with berries and peanut butter 😋 Here's a quick and easy recipe:
OVERNIGHT OATS
- 1/2 cup rolled oats
- 1/2 cup milk of choice
- 1/4 cup yoghurt of choice
- 1 Tbsp Chia seeds
- 1 Tbsp maple syrup (this could be reduced if you find it too sweet)
- 1/4 Tsp Vanilla extract
- toppings of choice (berries, nuts, banana, peanut butter)
Simply mix it all together and place it in the fridge overnight.
There are so many benefits to overnight oats;
✨ Oats are packed with essential nutrients like fibre, protein, vitamins, and minerals.
✨ Preparing overnight oats is quick and easy. You can make them the night before, saving time in the morning.
✨ You can tailor overnight oats to your taste preferences and dietary needs.
✨ The high fibre content in oats helps you feel full longer, which can aid in controlling appetite and preventing overeating throughout the day.
✨ Soaking oats overnight helps break down starches making it easier for your body to absorb the nutrients and aiding digestion.
✨ Overnight oats provide a balanced mix of carbohydrates, protein, and healthy fats, offering sustained energy to start your day.
I also like to have a hot water with fresh lemon and honey to start my day as well. There are also many benefits to this, some of which include; aiding digestion, a powerful antioxidant, supports liver function and supports heart health 🍋

One of my favourite ways to travel and see a place is by bike 🥰
This is a flashback to the beginning of 2016, when I travelled through Cambodia and Laos with a friend of mine Danielle Abbott and the majority of the trip we experienced by bike 🚴‍♀️
This is us at the end of a long day of riding, almost 400km completed so far and we have just reached Laos! A much needed water break and some amazing views and music to set the tone as well (Be sure to turn up the volume!!).
If you can ride a bike, I would definitely recommend joining a tour with some bike riding as part of the experience, it's simply amazing 💜
