In April I turn 57. I have been through two pregnancies, post partum, rehabilitated many musculoskeletal injuries over the years and have survived peri menopause and menopause.
Every woman can relate to at least two, if not all of these life events that need to be managed. Not to mention the emotional aspect attached to these periods in life.
One of the most important constants that has helped me through all of these milestones is my training. I have been weight training since I was 16 years old and doing Pilates since I was 30 years old. A combination of both of these modalities of training is essential for women’s health during their lifetime.
I have had 37 years experience developing weight training programs for women, 25 years as a Pilates teacher and educator and 17 years as an Exercise Physiologist. I specialise in movement analysis and designing programs to address muscle imbalances, rehabilitate injuries and to maintain strength, stability, mobility, balance and bone strength.
