When we cleanse, itβs important to open our drainage pathways to ensure proper elimination. One of our favourite ways to help this process is to dry body brush.
When we dry brush we:
- Stimulate lymph flow just under the skin, helping fluid and cellular waste to move toward our main drainage hubs
- Boost circulation so that new blood and nutrients reach the tissues, and waste is picked up more efficiently
- Gently exfoliate the skin, keeping our biggest detox organ clear so it can do its job
How?
π€ Use a natural bristle brush such as our beautiful Sandalwood Brush on completely dry skin before your shower.
π€ Start at your feet and brush up your legs toward your hips using light, sweeping strokes.
π€ Brush from your hands up your arms toward your armpits where major lymph nodes sit.
π€ Use gentle circular motions on your abdomen and around your ribcage, always moving toward your heart.
π€ Lightly brush your chest and upper back, and along the collarbones, avoiding the face and any broken or irritated skin.
π€ Shower afterward, then moisturise with a natural body oil such as almond oil or coconut.
A simple, grounding practice to open pathways and deepen your cleanse π€
