Do you use escapism as a way to deal with or avoid pain? Or do you find it actually helps heal as you intentionally avoid engaging with reality for a moment.
Either way, we need to see that it can be harmful to disrupt the natural healing process in facing our feelings, but it can help us take a break from overwhelming our senses too.
Be it social media, over working ourselves, substances, shopping or even daydreaming, we can escape in many ways. Knowing how to balance this with facing our regular life challenges or any trauma is key.

Searching for that serene outlook, the long drive to get there, the feeling of calm when you arrive.
When was the last time you just took a time out from life, immersing yourself in the quiet and switching off.
It is essential to take this break, whether it be in the mind through meditation or a physical getaway.

How much do you respect yourself, and therefore others? Do you speak positively about yourself, give yourself the time and energy you deserve, and if not how does that reflect on how you treat others. Do you give more than you get?
Sit with this and think about how your practise of self-respect is going.
It all starts with you and only you. Mindfulness can help us explore how we are in different situations and how we react and respond.
We are all worthy and worth it, so spend the time to reflect and make positive growth or changes in this area.

It's a really simple, free and fast way to reduce stress., induce calm and balance.
Don't place any rules or expectations on yourself. You can sit or lie perhaps close your eyes. Just be present. Open your mind and breathe. Don't block out any thoughts just as they come in acknowledge them and let them pass.
There are so many health benefits for your mind, body and soul
Types of meditation include guided, mantras, mindfulness, transcendental, yoga or walks.
Give it a go and then keep it going and watch the changes in your life unfold.

It's aim is to move stagnant or blocked energy in the body either physically or emotionally.
