Hey, Iām Alana.
Grace is my middle name. I didnāt like it when I was younger, it felt ātoo religiousā whatever that meant. But when I started thinking about a name for counselling practice, it made sense.
That year I noticed little signs that kept bringing me back to āGrace.ā Maybe thats a theme in my life, something that guides me from within... Grace!
I started getting emails addressed to Grace, while teaching yoga at a studio with another Alana they asked if I could be called Grace. Grace seemed to be everywhere, quietly reminding me of what I value. I even rediscovered a book Iād bought years ago called Bright Shining Grace that Iād forgotten about.
Iāve never believed in force. For me, resilience and strength come from a gentler place, not pushing or forcing. Thatās why grace feels like such a fitting word, it reflects the values I try to bring into my work.
š¤Give yourself grace. From there you can give others grace.
š¤Even in struggle, look for whatās working. Itās gentle.
š¤With clarity, we donāt always need force.
I also believe we are always supported and that thereās always hope. That healing is possible.
I wouldnāt work with someone if I didnāt believe in their capacity to grow, because belief matters so much in therapy.
Your strengths are already inside you.
Sometimes itās just a matter of noticing them and letting them guide you.
If you want a little more grace in your life, Iād be happy to walk alongside you. Iāve learned a few things along the way about what supports us to return to this place, but mostly, Iām still learning too,
We all are.
