Fitness on Northern Beaches Run Squads Wed evenings at Narrabeen. Fitness on northern beaches is a group fitness business on the Northern Beaches of Sydney.

Mobile Personal Training where we come to you, train outdoors or come train at our gym in North Narrabeen
Private reformer Pilates session, Outdoor Group Training, Pre/Post natal specialist, Online programs. Operating out of Mona Vale as the home base and can travel to all locations on the Northern Beaches for groups & PT; FNB puts an emphasis on the "functional" aspect of fitness. This means that every exercise or session is designed to meet a specific physical adaptation. Classes are limited at 10 to ensure you get more 1 on 1 time and our trainers nutrition guidance will ensure you reach your fitness and weight loss goals in the most effective way possible. Program Structure:
2 group sessions per week - $33
Unlimited group sessions - $40
1 PT session - $82.50
1 PT session + Unlimited - $100

It’s a road block I find a lot.

Clients tell me they feel fine to train without eating.
That may well be the case but I promise you will get more out of your work out and post workout if you eat before you train .

Why ?

Hormonal changes increase stress sensitivity
• After 40, estrogen and progesterone start fluctuating and eventually decline.
• Estrogen helps regulate blood glucose, insulin sensitivity, and muscle recovery.
• When estrogen drops, the body becomes less efficient at using carbohydrates and more prone to storing fat — particularly when stressed.
• Training fasted adds another stress layer (increased cortisol), which can make the body hold onto fat and break down muscle instead of building it.



⚡ 2. Fasted training raises cortisol
• Cortisol naturally rises in the morning — that’s normal.
• If you train without eating, you spike it further.
• Chronically high cortisol can lead to:
• Poor recovery
• Sleep issues
• Muscle loss
• Increased belly fat
• Hormonal dysregulation (especially during perimenopause and menopause)



🍌 3. Muscle protection and energy
• As women age, muscle preservation becomes key for metabolism, strength, and bone health.
• Without pre-exercise fuel, the body pulls from amino acids in muscle to make glucose for energy (via gluconeogenesis).
• A small pre-workout snack (like a banana, half a slice of toast with honey, or a few bites of yogurt) signals the body:
“We’re fed — use carbs for fuel, not muscle.”



🔥 4. Better training results
• Women who eat before training generally:
• Hit higher intensities
• Recover faster
• Build more lean muscle
• Have more stable hormones

Dr. Sims often says:

“You can’t train hard if you’re under-fueled. You’re just teaching your body to burn less.”



✅ What she recommends instead
• Before training: something small with carbs and a little protein — even 100–150 calories.
e.g. a banana + few sips of protein shake, or toast with nut butter.
• After training: refuel within 30–45 min with a mix of carbs and protein (e.g. Greek yogurt and fruit, eggs and toast).

There is SO much misinformation out there that’s it’s almost impossible to filter through what’s right and what’s wrong .

is so amazing and her information is just so relevant. If you don’t follow her then go on and follow for some great insight into females and how we function.

I will no doubt return from this seminar full of information and can’t wait to share it with you all amazing ladies ❤️

Queensland you were a blast 💥

Five nights at Surfers paradise and unlimited entry to Dreamworld 🌎

We hit Dreamworld four times and also White water world .

Kids had the best time ever! Adults = exhausted 🥱

Will we do it again ? Absolutely ! 💯

Why do YOU train ?

One of my favourite things is when Clients tell me they did a hike or a bike ride or some sort of physical activity and it was so much easier than expected !

I love this. We exercise to feel good and do things we did not believe we were capable of.

Fitness isn’t just about what happens in the gym — it’s about how good you feel outside of it
Whether it’s chasing waves, hiking headlands, or keeping up with your kids — train for life, not just for the mirror.

NSW athletics Homebush 10km.

I was on a mission to find a flat fast 10km so I could give it a good go on my time! This fitted the brief perfect!

45:54 was our time
4:35 p/km was our pace

I did all the training and all the intervals and it worked! Albeit a week of sickness in my house in the lead up and an Achilles injury for Matt leading into it 🫣

We did break one rather huge cardinal rule of a race day and Matt and I both wore brand new shoes ! I raced in the ASICS Mega Blast and Matt raced in the ASICS Nova Blast luxe
And the shoes were perfection !
