What is the one little act of compassion that you have done for yourself?

From my experience as a clinical psychologist, I’ve learned that focusing only on symptoms in mental health treatment is often just the starting point, not the full work.

Anxiety, depression, and emotional overwhelm are frequently rooted in unresolved trauma beneath the surface. Over time, I’ve found that meaningful and lasting change happens when we gently process what sits underneath the symptoms.

This is where EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing) has been particularly powerful in my practice. It helps clients reprocess traumatic experiences so they are no longer held in the same emotional intensity.

For me, therapy is not just about symptom relief—it’s about deeper integration and healing.
