Why YOGA?

Daily yoga practice is a commitment to yourself and to your own growth. A daily practice is essential to help us stay physically fit, mentally balanced, spiritually connected, and emotionally strong.

It is a simple, accessible, and affordable practice that can be done almost anywhere. It doesn’t have to be long or complicated, even if you only have 30 minutes per day, it will still benefit your body, mind and spirit.

“Yoga is not just repetition of few postures, it is more about the exploration and discovery of the subtle energies of life” ― Amit Ray

Yoga in forest❤️

🧘🏾‍♀️Doing yoga in nature essentially supercharges all the regular benefits you'd see from yoga indoors: reduced stress, depression, anxiety, blood pressure, and symptoms and increased mobility, motor function, psychological well-being, and quality of life.

🧘🏾‍♀️Relaxing outdoor environments tend to make you feel better by releasing endorphins to the brain. Also having the added stimulation of terrain such as grass and sand only helps you feel more connected to your environment.

🧘🏾‍♀️Today I visited Dandenong ranges and breath taking surrounding inspired me to do a quick asana.
Can’t have enough of this mesmerizing place, no matter how many time I go there.

Happy International Yoga Day!!!

Honestly everyday is yoga day for me. Yoga is very intrigued part of my daily routine. People only look at Asana side of yoga but believe me it is just one eighth of what yoga offers.

Modern yoga is most commonly associated with the physical practice of asana, a series of postures often weaved together in styles such as Vinyasa Flow or Ashtanga. Asana practice is generally intended to build strength and stamina, to improve flexibility, coordination and balance, and to relax the body. However, this provides only one small aspect of the tradition of yoga as a whole.

These eight practices are intended to be carried out in a holistic and integrative manner:

Yamas - Five universal, ethical and moral observances to live by (nonviolence, truthfulness, non-stealing, continence and non-covetousness)
Niyamas - Five spiritual and self-discipline observances (cleanliness, contentment, spiritual austerities, study of scriptures and surrender to God)
Asana - physical posture, originally intended only for seated meditation, but more recently adapted to encompass all physical yoga practices
Pranayama - breathing exercises to control the flow of prana (vital life force)
Pratyahara - Withdrawal of the senses
Dharana - Single pointed concentration
Dhyana - Meditation
Samadhi - Liberation or blissful union with the Divine.

“Yoga is a great thing to do when you first wake up, just to move the body and get the blood flowing,”

My Mornings start with warm water and honey followed by yoga sequences🤸🏽‍♀️🧘🏾‍♀️

I like to start with gentle starches to wake your body and synchronize movements with breath.

A strong practice can help build muscle, dramatically boost metabolism, and breathing fully and deeply increases circulation, also helping the metabolism to stay ticking along nicely. A little bit of pranayama, a little upper body strength, of course, some opening work as well.

What is your way to stay active?

Wild Thing Pose (Camatkarasana)

This posture is kind of variation of ADHO MUKHA SHAVASANA ( downwards facing dog)

From Down Dog, slide your left leg in front of the right and open your torso and heart to the sky. Extend your top arm down over your head. This variation continues to build strength in the arms, but it also opens the hip flexors and chest, while improving circulation.

SHIRSHASANA🤸🏽‍♀️

Sirsasana may help in improving the concentration, balance and posture of the body and can reduce the production of stress hormone. Headstand can also improve digestion, blood circulation and flexibility. It may also remove toxins from the body.

was described as both an asana and a mudra in classical hatha yoga, under different names. It has been called the king of all asanas.

Strengthens the spine, neck, shoulders, and arms.
Tones the legs and abdominals.
Relieves a buildup of fluid in the legs and feet.
Allows a healthy, pure blood flow to brain cells.

Mornings are suggested as the best time for performing this asana to get maximum benefits.

This is advance yoga posture so make sure you do it with caution and right guidance ❤️

CHAKRASANA( The Wheel Pose)

The name Chakrasana is derived from the word 'Chakra', meaning 'wheel'. This asana is named so because the final posture of the body resembles a round wheel. It is full body asana that helps stretch and strengthen the knees, spine, chest and the upper limbs.

Chakrasana is a deep back-bending pose that is performed for spinal flexibility.

One of the most effective Chakrasana benefits is that it opens up your chest muscles and improves circulation. This prevents the risk of heart problems.

People who have respiratory disorders find the importance of Chakrasana in opening up their lungs.

It is an advance yoga pose, make sure you do it under guidance and prevent any damage in spine.
