From New Mum to Marathon Finisher! ๐ชโจ
Michelle first came to FORRM Strength and Recovery after giving birth, determined to regain her pelvic floor strength. Her determination saw her reach her goals, and get discharged from our care.
Seven months later, she returned with a newer, bolder vision: to complete her first marathon! Despite having little training in endurance running, she set a goal to finish in under five hours. And the marathon was only FIVE months away! ๐ซฃ๐ซฃ
Showing the same determination and dedication over the five months, she crossed the finish line in just 4 hours, 58 minutes, and 37 seconds! ๐
Weโre so inspired by Michelleโs dedication and resilience.
Some highlights of her training include:
- Using her baby in the pram as added 'resistance' on her runs to achieve goal faster ๐ถ๐ผ
- Religiously measuring her heart rate during all training to ensure sufficient training intensity ๐
- Completing training on hills, rather than a flat surface, in order to have greater resistance (almost all these runs with bub and pram!) ๐คฏ
