Welcome to Oberon Dr Suren!

Welcome to Our New Permanent Doctor 😊

We are delighted to welcome Dr Surendrakumar (Suren) Gnanapragasam to the team at Oberon Medical Centre.

Dr Suren is an experienced doctor with a strong background in both hospital and community medicine across Australia and overseas. He has worked extensively in Emergency Medicine, General Medicine, Surgery, and Rural Practice, bringing a well-rounded and practical approach to patient care.
He is passionate about providing comprehensive, patient-centred care — managing acute presentations, chronic diseases, and preventive health — while building long-term relationships with patients and families.

Dr Suren has a particular interest in rural health and is committed to supporting the Oberon community through high-quality, compassionate, and accessible care. His experience in emergency and procedural medicine further strengthens his ability to manage a wide range of clinical conditions with confidence.

As an added benefit to our community, his wife, who is also a doctor, will be relocating from Queensland and is expected to join our team in the near future.

We are excited to have Dr Suren join our team and look forward to the valuable contribution he will make to the health and wellbeing of our community.
