"Hello Community!

My name is Annabelle, and I am the founder and sole trader of Coastal Banksia Occupational Therapies, a mobile, community-based provider. I have recently relocated to the beautiful Northern NSW and am excited to introduce myself!
I am now accepting new referrals for ongoing therapies and comprehensive functional capacity assessment evaluations.

I am deeply passionate about delivering high-quality, client-centred, compassionate care that empowers clients to achieve their goals and thrive.

As I am new to the area, I am eager to establish connections and collaborate with the community to provide valuable services in Northern NSW and South East Queensland.

Please feel free to contact me or share my details with friends, family, and local coordinators.

I would be delighted to provide more information about my practice and explore how we can work together!

There’s a common saying that “there’s no such thing as a free lunch”.

And when it comes to NDIS funding much needed supports for those who need them, that money has to come from somewhere.

Because it’s a Government initiative, the NDIS is funded by all Australians. That means no matter how you look at it, whether you’re a participant, a support worker or an NDIS planner, you’re paying for NDIS supports.

That’s why it’s important for anyone using or working with the NDIS to understand what providers can charge for their services, and use this information to ensure participants get the best possible value from their Plans.

Enter the NDIS Pricing Arrangements and Price Limits (previously called the NDIS Price Guide).

"Before prescribing GPS tracking for a participant, it is essential to ensure that the purpose and use align with ethical principles."

Angie Schmitzer from My Buddy Gard offers a checklist for Occupational Therapists and other support providers to consider whether GPS tracking will enhance the freedom and independence of a person with disability.

"I started as a Mental Health Support worker and moved onto doing School Leavers Employment Support (SLES) when I was living on the Gold Coast. Eventually I became a sole trader doing Support Coordination. I have been doing this for about 5 years now and have since grown into a company. I now have 10 amazing people working for GYA across Brisbane, Gold Coast and Northern Rivers.

I have a lot of lived experience, time and empathy to supporting people.

I have recently moved to Nimbin and I would love to take on a few clients in Lismore, Uki, The Channon region and surrounds."

You might have heard of recent changes to payment processing procedures within the NDIS, with a strong focus being on fraud detection. The industry was notified in March that there may be delays in payments. As of 19/03/2024 the NDIA has introduced a 24 hour payment delay.

What does this mean for you?

Claims will be paid in two business days now. Services for participants won't be affected by this NDIS wide change.
