I am loving the analogy - Life is like GOING ON A BEAR HUNT!!!! ..... you have to go through it, there are no short cuts or easy paths. Life is messy, and you will get wounds and scars. But, you can also have moments of warmth and contentment and joy. It all depends on how you look at it and what you chose to focus on.

What are you doing for your wellbeing? How are you being intentional in caring for yourself?

At Arukah Life Counselling, I hold each person's journey with open hands because it is a privilege when people share who they are with me in a vulnerable capacity.

It is my belief that each person's journey through life is unique and therefore I walk alongside my clients, allowing them to be in the drivers seat of their own life because that is important.

I dont treat counselling as 'one shoe fits all' because there are many variables and for this reason I incorporate into my counselling style - person centred therapy, solution focused therapy and cognitive behavioural therapy. One of my hobbies / passions is learning, so I am currently training in - Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, which I am excited to be qualified in and therefore bring into my counselling practice too.

As a general counsellor meaning I dont specialise in one particular field, I have the opportunity to work and walk alongside individuals of all ages, couples and families. Assisting those struggling with anxiety, stress, grief and loss, feeling overwhelmed, feeling lost, changes of stages in life, depression, moving forward and letting go of the past, family and relationship issues and struggles, and parenting (just to name a few).

Counselling is what I do because people matter.

Welcome to Arukah Life Counselling. My name is Kelly Chambers and I am the owner and counsellor for Arukah Life Counselling. I have a passion for helping and supporting people of all ages to achieve a balanced wellbeing.

I value people sharing their life with me and it is important to me that I am honest, real, authentic, display empathy and respect what is shared with me, working at the pace which you feel comfortable moving.

I am a wife to a wonderfully supportive husband of 25 years. I am a mum to 5 adult children, who I am proud of. I am blessed to have travelled with each of them through their variety of achievements and accomplishments, highs and lows. I am a mum-in-law to 4 additional members of our family. Plus, a mema to 4 beautiful munchkins (aka grandkids) who keep me on my toes, which i am grateful for.

I began my professional working life as a primary school teacher after working towards my 'Bacehlor of Teaching - Early Childhood' and then my 'Masters in Primary School Teaching'. After working in the public and private school systems, I chose to homeschool my kids.

It was during the later years of home-schooling my kids, that i studied counselling through 'Australian Institute of Professional Counselling' (AIPC) because I have a passion in helping, guiding and supporting people of all ages.

Arukah Life Counselling came to be, after I achieved my Diploma in Counselling through AIPC.

It is an honour to be working as a counsellor and helping people of all ages and stages. Life is a journey, and I get to be a part of others journeys which is a blessing. A blessing which I hold carefully in my open hands.

CONTROL ......

A big step with control is acknowledging what is good in your day and what is hard about this day without a clenched jaw and a racing heart. There may be things you can change, but there is a lot that we can't change. Trying to control the uncontrollable breeds chaos. It creates anxiousness, annoyance, irritability, discontentment, and can lead to anger.

Control is our way of trying to keep things the way we want them to be, not realising how that stress is making us fall apart physically, emotionally, and mentally

Control tends to show those in your world that you dont trust them and will push them away rather than keep them close. Control can lead to divide instead of unity and peace.
