So excited to see friend/student/colleague Lillelund Riding Academy take a leap and do a fabulous job introducing her stunning 4-year old “Sonny” to competition life! Vicki planned the day meticulously and made sure it was a positive experience for her beautiful boy! So proud of both of them and excited to have gained new competition buddies to enjoy our outings with 🙌💕☺️

Join our yoga class for horse riders this Monday under the Virgo 🌕, the last full moon of summer.

Every full moon marks the end of a lunar cycle. This Monday's class (26th February) is designed to help you align yourself with the power of the moon, inviting you to let go, heal and rejuvenate from the business of life. Harness the heightened intuition and emotional depth that the full moon brings, syncing us with the rhythms of the Earth and the water within us. This Virgo full moon, also known as the snow moon, invites us to shed thoughts that no longer align with our values.

Embrace a practice that balances logic and intuition, strengthening and loosening your body, focusing on introspection, contemplation and fostering self-love.

Let the moonlight guide you on a journey of empowerment and connection in this unique yoga experience tailored for riders.

Becoming your horse’s personal trainer 🏋️‍♀️ - NEW BLOG POST out now 📬

“Recently, my coach shared an analogy, highlighting how we, as dressage riders, can see ourselves as personal trainers for our equine partners. As I train with a Personal Trainer once a fortnight, this perspective resonates deeply with me. (Thankfully, Ollie’s “trying hard face” is a lot more attractive than mine!)

Much like a personal trainer’s role, we act as guides, encouraging our horses to put in that extra effort, to try a bit harder, and to continually grow.

As personal trainers are there to help improve physical abilities, we, as dressage riders, pay close attention to our horses’ natural movements, strengths, and areas that need improvement. Our goal is to create a customized training regimen that addresses both the horse’s physical development and nurtures their mental well-being. Setting the bar higher, stretching abilities, and providing the support needed for personal growth characterize both personal training and dressage riding…”

After over 2 years (😳!!) of taking a break from yoga teaching due to pregnancy, birth, motherhood to two little humans and moving onto property… yesterday I was back on the mat infront of a class 🧘🏻‍♀️

It felt so natural and right to guide a gorgeous group of students through a sequence of asana aimed at connecting body and mind through breath and movement.

Yoga doesn’t have to be intense or hard to bring results. Sometimes the exact opposite is required to help us reconnect with ourselves.

To PAUSE ✨

To FEEL✨

To BECOME QUIET✨

To REFLECT✨

Bringing the concept of sthira and sukha into the practice… the light and the strong, intensity and gentleness.

It’s taken time to let go of self doubt about my teaching and allowing myself to guide a class in an authentic way… allowing all of me to show up, the serious, the caring, the funny, the encouraging.

It’s been a journey to accept that my yoga teaching style is not for everyone. Not trying to fit into everyone’s mould and trusting that the students for whom my way of teaching is right, that they will find me.

And here I am… Back on the mat.
I can’t express enough thanks to Chris Tesoriero for creating the space for me to share the practice until our own place is built. You are simply the best! 🙏

This is just the beginning ☀️

~ More being, less doing ~

At the start of a year we often set goals and look into the future to define what we want to achieve in the coming 12 months.

While I have set goals for my horses, I see a lot of value in “being with” them to develop a deeper understanding and relationship with each other.

The sensitive and very knowledgeable .jones was the perfect person to bring more of that “being with” to me and my team. She picked up on each horse’s personality and tailored her approach to the individual. Her love for horses and passion for helping them feel safe and content shines through everything she does. There were no shortcuts or magic bullets, but sensible insights and observations and she left me with practical tips and activities on how to work (in liberty/on the ground) with each of them.
My horses don’t show any challenging behaviours but nevertheless the sessions were insightful and in many ways confirming of the sense I have had about them horses already. I trust that relaxation is the foundation to learning for horses and humans alike and look forward to incorporating more of that in my training and coaching in 2024

Are any of my Queensland horsey friends travelling down to the The Victorian Dressage Festival? I’m looking at transport options for a pony located near Logan to come down to the Central Coast.

It was such a special moment to share with my supportive partner in crime ♥️ Greg Preuss and how fitting to spend the evening celebrating with fellow horse lovers at Saddles Mt White

Hi and welcome to my page :)

Hi my name is Anna and I am a Dressage rider/coach and Yoga teacher. I live on the northern beaches and ride/coach in the Terry Hills and Dural areas.

My riding and training evolved from a deep connection and love for horses, since I was a young girl. I have trained several young horses from Prelim to FEI and successfully competed at Small Tour nationally and internationally.

Originally from Germany, my training is rooted in the classic German training system and my focus is on a strong foundation in the basics whilst creating a harmonious relationship between riders and their horse . The horses health and well-being is my priority and my coaching approach is compassionate, yet outcome focussed. I believe that every combination has the ability to achieve their potential and I love working towards this in a holistic way, specifically targeted to each combination. I have a background in High Performance Coaching in the corporate world and have worked with Australian Dressage Team riders, Young Rider squads and Judges in private sessions and workshops, on topics including Stress Management, Goal setting and Developing Mental Resilience.

As a Yoga Teacher, I bring an additional perspective to my coaching and riding. I recognise the importance of a well-balanced and effective riders seat and believe our seat is crucial in our communication with the horse. The more smooth and steady we are able to sit, the more harmoniously we can work with our horses.
