Most people say they want joy, happiness, ease.
But often what we are really chasing is the idea of it through success, money or achievement, hoping it will finally unlock the feeling we long for.
What is quietly underneath is often fear. Fear of not being enough. Fear that if we slow down or stop, everything will fall apart.
When fear runs the show, it drives everything we do and usually creates the opposite of what we want. We chase pleasure instead of joy. We scroll, overwork or keep busy, not because we truly want to, but because we are trying to make uncomfortable feelings go away.
However, things like joy happiness and ease do not need to be earned. They don’t need to be forced. They are already inside you, waiting for you to soften, pause and notice them again.
If you are feeling overwhelmed, consider slowing down, tuning in to your body, and noticing what it needs. Even small moments of pause can help ease tension and invite more joy into your day.
