Disability Accessibility Tips - Tip #1: Clear Pathways 🛤️

A well-designed accessible pathway is not just about width; it's about functionality. Here's how to achieve it:

✅ Width Matters: Ensure that your pathways are wide enough (at least 36 inches or as per local regulations) to comfortably accommodate wheelchairs and mobility aids. This allows individuals to move freely without obstacles.

✅ Keep it Clear: Regularly inspect and remove any clutter, furniture, or objects that may block the pathway. This includes ensuring that extension cords, loose rugs, or any other tripping hazards are safely secured or removed.

✅ Smooth Surfaces: Ensure that pathways are level and have smooth surfaces to prevent jolts or discomfort for those using wheelchairs or walkers. Repair any cracks or uneven areas promptly.

✅ Ramp and Thresholds: If there are ramps or thresholds, make sure they are designed to be accessible. Ramps should have proper inclines and handrails if necessary, while thresholds should be low or have ramps to ease transitions.

✅ Good Lighting: Adequate lighting is crucial, especially in corridors and pathways. Proper illumination helps individuals with visual impairments navigate safely.

David's love for exploring new destinations knows no bounds! Whether it's a park, a museum, or an exciting city, he's always up for an adventure. His fascination with picture books is truly heart-warming. He could spend hours getting lost in the colourful pages, unlocking new worlds with every turn. Water is pure happiness for him. Whether it's splashing in the pool or enjoying a soothing bath, he embraces the simple joy of being in the water
When it's game time, he is a game guru. David has a palate that's both diverse and fun! From noodles to pasta, Nutella on bread to chicken nuggets, he enjoys a wide range of tasty treats.
