About me…

My name is Moran and I am a mother to three healthy, smart and beautiful girls. My journey into the world of birthing began when I had my first child Isabella. Isabella’s birth was one filled with fear, intervention and post partum anxiety, the way all births are not meant to be. I really doubted whether I would have any more children after her birth as I felt the power within me was ta

ken away. However when I did finally summon up the courage to try again I decided to have a doula support me through this important time in my life and support me she did! My daughter Portia’s birth was a moment of pure empowerment and joy. I birthed her in my bath tub at the time when I was scheduled to go in to a private hospital but I was going so well and felt so confident in my body’s abilities that I decided to have a last minute unassisted birth at home with just my husband and doula present. At the moment of transition I remember my fears creaping up on me as I gazed into my reassuring doula’s eyes which gave me the strength to keep going and keep going I did! With my third child I had a very long back labour as she was posterior but again I had my doula that stayed with me for the whole time making sure that my confidence in my body’s abilities weren’t diminished in any way and I birthed her naturally with no intervention needed. I was so inspired and fascinated with the strength and confidence having a doula there gave me in comparison to my first birth and became inspired to want to give other women that same belief in their bodies and their ability to birth naturally that I got. My aim is to give my clients the trust to believe in their bodies and their abilities to handle anything and to let them gain the knowledge to the array of choices that are available so that they can make informed decisions when it comes to their birth. I have attended many births now as a doula and it is such a rewarding experience to be present for the parents that I work with in aiding them enjoy the birth experience which will leave an imprint for a lifetime. I work in births in any setting and all circumstances, from home birth, birthing centre to hospital births and have witnessed the most AMAZING births imaginable. I am a true believer that “when you change the way you think about birth, the way you birth will change’ ~ Marie Mongan

✨Some images take your breath away and this is one of them.
A woman, holding her own uterus after her hysterectomy.

This organ carried her cycles, her pregnancies, her hormones, her story. And now, in this moment, she is both saying goodbye and reclaiming her power.

This is not just a medical procedure, it’s a chapter of identity, of release, of letting go.

Birth stories are the ultimate love stories ✨
The kind told without words, through touch, through breath, through unwavering presence. She gave everything to bring their baby earthside. And he was there for it all; holding her, anchoring her, loving her through every wave.

Because real love shows up in the hardest moments… and stays 💗

❤️ Post about baby loss ❤️

“I am here to tell you a story of a courageous family and little girl whose sacred contract here on this planet was not meant to be earthly. A friend of mine messaged me stating at her routine ultrasound they identified her baby had hydrops, a condition not compatable with life in most cases, especially when found so early in pregnancy. The OB at the clinic immediately recommend her terminating her pregnancy. She asked me what I thought. I dropped immediately into what I call “great grandma wisdom”, talking her through what her great cave grandma would have done. There would have been no high technological machine scanning her belly to tell her of this fate. She would have still enjoyed the feeling of LIFE moving inside of her. She would have woken before the passing of 10 moons and realized that her baby was on her way too early. She would have been surrounded by her aunties, sisters and other females as they didn’t fear walking into what is most guaranteed part of life ... death. So instead of falling into fear with the strong recommendation from the OB, she trusted her intuition, she let her baby pass on her own time and birthed her into the same place that she originally intended… at home. Before the start of the waves that would bring her here, she came across an article in Cafemom where a mom in a similar situation talked about preserving her baby in saline water to mimic the amniotic fluid that baby had just come from. The process of her little body decaying was halted and over time, with changing the water every 6-8 hours, they were able to see their baby unfold… the redness of the skin, the pealing skin, all stopped. She looked through these mama’s pictures and knew it was right for their experience. It was something I had never heard of in my 18 years of birth work, when she sent me her daughters pictures, I couldn’t stop looking at how beautiful she was. My eyes were filled with tears. What an amazing option for families who want more time with their babies. What an incredible way to be given their own time to say goodbye. And what an incredible gift to share with you all to know that this is an option.”

When dad says “I’ve got you” and means it. 💪🏼
From fielding the phone call to catching his own baby with steady hands and a full heart.
The focus, the emotion, the teamwork… and the pure magic of meeting your baby for the very first time.

✨ Beautiful photos captured of a baby born en caul during a cesarean birth.

Still cocooned in the amniotic sac, this little one made their way earthside surrounded by the very waters and membranes that kept them safe for months.

There’s something so quiet and powerful about these moments. A gentle emergence. A pause in time.

A reminder that even in a surgical setting, birth can be sacred and beautiful.

More and more women are choosing to have their first baby in their 40s and I see it firsthand with so many of my clients.

Maybe it took time to find the right partner.
Maybe the focus was on career or healing or simply living life on your own terms.
Maybe the path to pregnancy was long, winding, and full of lessons.

But here they are. Pregnant. Over 40. And doing it beautifully.

The truth is, while the medical world often treats pregnancy after 40 as “high risk,” what I witness is women who are deeply intentional, emotionally grounded, and fully present for this next chapter.

They bring life experience, self-awareness, and a fierce sense of what they want for themselves and their baby.

So if you’re 40 or over and thinking about having a baby or already pregnant, this post is for you.
You’re not late. You’re right on time.

✨ Just because you’re birthing in a hospital doesn’t mean you have to be stuck in bed. Movement is one of the most powerful tools you have to help labour progress and manage discomfort.

✅ Walk around the room or hallways (if monitoring allows).
✅ Use a birth ball—hip circles, bouncing, or leaning forward can ease pressure.
✅ Try upright positions—standing, squatting, or hands & knees can help baby descend.
✅ Utilise the bed creatively—adjust the height, lean over it, or kneel on it.
✅ Advocate for intermittent monitoring so you’re not continuously strapped to the bed.

If a provider tells you that you must lie down, ask why??? In most cases, movement is safe and beneficial, so don’t be afraid to take up space and use your body intuitively!

Don’t forget the placenta!

After your baby is born, your body still has one final step, birthing the placenta. This is an incredible moment where your uterus works to release the organ that nurtured your baby throughout pregnancy.

Trust your body to guide you through this process. You can choose to allow gravity, gentle pushing, or even a moment of rest to support this stage. Having your baby on you skin to skin and especially baby latching on to your breast will create the uterine contractions to help detach the placenta and release it out of your body. Nature’s perfect design 💛

🔴 Birth of The Placenta 🔴

Physiological birth of the placenta is absolutely normal.

Ripping the placenta from the uterus should not be standard or routine but unfortunately in the medical industry.... it is.

✨You can catch your own baby✨

Mama, have you ever imagined being the first person to touch your baby? It’s not just possible, it’s powerful. You are strong enough to bring life into this world and capable of guiding that life into your arms with your own two hands.

In those final moments of birth, you can reach down and catch your baby, feeling every bit of strength, grace, and wonder you possess. It’s not just an act, it’s a statement: I am powerful, I am capable, I am the first to welcome my baby.

This moment can be yours. Trust your body. Trust your instincts. You are extraordinary 💪
