We are currently seeking enthusiastic and dedicated Disability Support Workers to join our team and share our goal to empower people to live better, more independent and happier lives in their own home and community. Westview Disability Services is a growing NDIS provider seeking a motivated disability support worker to provide support work for our participants including but not limited to home care, personal care, transport and crisis accommodation assistance.
Duties and responsibilities
• A focus on supporting people individual goals and wishes.
• Assisting people with the personnel hygiene care (showering and toileting) or personnel care assistance ( low to high care)
• Community participation duties such as taking participants out for planned daily activities, group activities and social engagement.
• Assisting participants with transport including getting to appointments or therapy support, day-to-day activities and transport to education or work.
• Supporting independence through effective role modelling and teaching skills acquisition.
Education & Experience & Licence's:
• Certificate in Disability or related field, OR studying towards, OR a desire to learn
• Experience with High Care requirements
• Experience with Personal Care Assistance
• Experience with Hoist
• Current First Aid Certificate
• National Police Check (less than 6 month)
• Working With Children Check (less than 3 years old)
• Drivers Licence & access to a vehicle
• Ability to work independently
• Respect for the rights, dignity and ability of all our clients
• A willingness to work long and short shifts, weekends and nights
