Dr Nik answers the age old question, why are mouthguards important in sports? 😁
Mouthguards play an important role for athletes of all ages in contact sports by protecting teeth, gums, and jaws from serious injury during impact. They help reduce the risk of broken teeth, cuts and tears.

While being comfortable and easy to wear, mouthguards improve safety and give you the confidence to charge towards goal! 🦷

We’ve invested in advanced 3D imaging technology — a CBCT (Cone Beam CT) — to give our patients safer, more precise care.

Unlike traditional X-rays, CBCT provides a detailed 3D view of your teeth, bone, and surrounding structures. This allows us to accurately plan treatments like implants, wisdom tooth removal, and complex procedures with greater confidence and predictability.

Having this technology in-house means no delays, and immediate diagnosis — so we can streamline treatment and get the best outcome faster.

Better imaging. Better planning. Better results.

We love seeing our younger patients feel comfortable and confident at the dentist 😊

Creating a positive experience early on helps build healthy habits for life.

With consent, we’re sharing a special moment of one of our little patients showing us what her dentist uniform would look like. We completed her appt with a goodie bag and a toy while booking her next check-up during the school holidays.

School holiday appointments fill quickly, so we recommend booking ahead to avoid missing out 🗓🦷

Why are 6-month dental check-ups and cleans so important? 🦷
When we spoke with Dr Dina while reviewing a recent OPG, she highlighted how regular visits help keep plaque buildup under control, making each appointment more comfortable for patients.

Routine check-ups also allow dentists to identify any early signs of concerns, like small areas of decay, before they develop into more complex issues. Without regular visits, these problems may progress and require more extensive treatment.

Longer gaps between appointments can also lead to increased buildup, which may result in bleeding gums and discomfort during your visit.

Staying consistent with your dental care is a simple way to support your oral health over time.

If it’s been a while since your last check-up, consider booking an appointment with your dental professional.

This week is Dental Assistant Recognition Week and tooth be told, we have the best D.As!
Our lovely dental assistants work very hard behind the scenes to set up the rooms, assist the dentists, socialise with patients in the room, complete sterilisation of instruments, cleaning down the rooms after each patient and so much more. We want to give a shout out and a big thank you to Kait, Monica, Sienna, Siobhan and Snez for all your constant dedication and hard work every day. Another big thank you to Judy, Lisa and Lida that assist when they are back in Sydney 💙❤️

Dental emergencies can affect anyone, including dental professionals such as Dr Nik.
Signs that may indicate a dental emergency include:
• Severe or persistent tooth pain, especially if it disrupts sleep
• Swelling of the gums, cheek, or face
• Dental trauma such as a knocked-out or broken tooth
• Difficulty opening your mouth or problems with normal function
If you experience any of these symptoms, it’s important to have them checked by a dentist as soon as possible so you can discuss the appropriate treatment options.

How can your diet affect your teeth? 🍎

Our diets can affect our teeth by protecting or harming them. Foods and drinks that help protect our teeth are repairing and strengthening them while too many harmful foods and drinks can cause enamel damage and decay over time.

Regular clean and check-ups with one of our dentists can help monitor your teeth and could prevent damage from harmful foods and drinks 🪥🦷
