Stuttering isn’t always easy to define. 🗣️

It can involve repeating sounds, stretching them out, or feeling ‘stuck’ when speaking. It’s different for everyone and can affect confidence and communication, but it doesn’t define a person’s abilities.

When talking with someone who stutters, be patient, listen without interrupting, and give them time. Respect and understanding make all the difference. 💬

Swipe to learn more about stuttering and how to support those who stutter.

💡 Language Tip of the Week: Describing

🎨 Use features like color, size, shape, and function to describe objects—research shows this improves vocabulary and comprehension.
👉 E.g., “It’s a big, green, round ball that bounces!”
🧠 Boost vocabulary by providing rich, detailed descriptions that help children make connections between words and concepts.
🗂️ Support categorisation by grouping objects based on similar features, which enhances organisation and recall skills.
🌟 Encourage flexible language use, as learning to describe builds their ability to explain and talk about the world in detail.

Describing helps children develop a deeper understanding of language and how it works! 🗣️
