Happy World Bee Day!! Today celebrates our wonderful bees, highlighting the vital role of bees and pollinators. This years theme is: Bee Together for People and the Planet - a partnership that sustains us all! Bees polinate over 75% of global food crops, their decline threatens our very existence on this planet. So plant bee friendly plants in your gardens, dont use pesticides and buy local honey from a beekeeper - not the supermarket. Enjoy this special day, bee friendly, bee busy as and bee loving.

I have just finished another batch of my pure beeswax & coconut oil polish. Very popular for all types of wood, furniture. This polish is food safe for use on those cutting boards, chopsticks, wooden spoons. I also find it essential as a handcream/lipbalm, being waterproof it lasts the day on my hands whilst working in water or licking my lips. 2 sizes available - 40g & 100g.

Bee Facts:
The Queens only job is to lay eggs. She can lay up to 2000 eggs in 24 hours, she makes a really cute clicking noise when she lays each egg. The hive will replace her if she doesn't keep up the pace. The Queen mates usually once in her youth but with numerous drones.
Drones only job is to mate with the Queen. Drones live inside the hive and are waited on hand and foot by the worker bees, they do not have a stinger and do not contribute to the hive. 95% of them are a waste of space - hence come colder months they are kicked out of the hive to die. The Queen will make more in spring.
