Good morning!

I wanted to share something with y'all.

Happiness is not the absence of problems, it is the ability to deal with them.

I saw that statement in my Facebook travels today and I felt it was REALLY important to share.

It has SO MUCH TRUTH!

We spend so much time solving our problems because we believe it will make us "happy"

That kind of happiness is fleeting!

Knowing you can solve any problem that comes your way... THAT is TRUE happiness!

If you focus on what you CAN do about a problem instead of the problem itself, you get REAL solutions!

LASTING solutions!

AND

You will feel better about yourself too! Focusing on what you CAN do means you are surrounding yourself with positivity!

Think positive! Live positive!

It's a really simple philosophy that will CHANGE YOUR LIFE!

Depression SUCKS! (TW Severe Depression)

SO OFTEN Depression just sneaks up on you!

You start eating less, sleeping becomes harder, you feel constantly restless and listless, motivation for self-care starts to drop.... You get quieter and stop reaching out.

It's like you're on a little boat and there is a tiny hole you can't see. The boat slowly fills with water, but the water is warm.

You can't feel it. You have no idea it's there. You just keep rowing, thinking you're fine.

Before you know it, the boat is almost completely underwater!

Suddenly you're about to sink and there's nothing you can do about it.

The hole has grown, it's not tiny anymore. It's a big rupture!

You try and save the boat.... At first.

You fight a little.... Then you see the rocks ahead.

You're going to crash into them, it's inevitable. You can't stop it. The boat is going down either way.

So you just lay back and accept it. You accept that this is it. This is just "how you feel now"

You sink into the water and let yourself drown.

You stop getting dressed because you're not going anywhere anyway.

You stop eating because you just don't have any appetite.

You don't sleep because you spend all night crying or doing head laps.

You hurt ALL THE TIME.

You can't breathe without holding back tears.

You stop reaching out because you're sure no one cares and you're just bothering people with your whiny BS anyway.

Here's where that's going to change!

I was first diagnosed as Suicidal with clinical Depression in 1996. I was 8 years old at the time.

I have been fighting this battle for 27 years. I have been medicated and unmedicated. (medicated is ABSOLUTELY the way to go IMO)

I have done talk therapy, NLP, EFT, counselling, Reiki, exercise regimens, diet changes, laughter therapy and so much more!

I have soooo many different techniques, tips, tricks, exercises, challenges, advice and so much more I can share with you!

Accountability is one of those things that a lot of people misunderstand.

I find the easiest way to explain accountability is like this,

Responsibility is when you take the blame for something and act on what you have done to try and fix it...

Responsibility is usually fueled by guilt and the realisation that you have hurt/disappointed/upset someone you care about.

There is also an expectation that the other person will "take responsibility" for what they have done.

When that doesn't happen, things can go very wrong very fast!

Accountability is when you accept an event as a thing that happened, an opportunity to get feedback on what you have done.

A chance to get an accurate idea of what behaviour you need to change in order to have a more successful interaction with that person in future.

Accountability is usually fueled by a want to improve YOUR actions in a situation without blame.

You don't have any expectations of the other person because you can't be accountable for someone else's actions.

Accountability is a MUCH better way to approach things if you want a lasting, reasonable solution to your issue.

Don't use blame. Just accept that events happened and do what you can to make better choices next time.

You know what you aren't happy with in your actions and only you can change them!
