📣📣 📣 Important Annoucement 📣📣 📣

Both bathrooms will be getting renovated at my home clinic during October. My personal bathroom will be ongoing renovations from Monday the 6th of October for approx 2 weeks and while this shouldn’t cause too much of an impact plus be aware that there may be some noise from the tradesmen and they will need to access my driveway so please be mindful of this when parking your car.

The ensuite bathroom in my treatment room will be starting renovations once my personal bathroom is finished and as a result I will be closed for the 2 weeks it will take for these renovations to be completed. I may be able to do some weekend appointments during this time but will not have a toilet available for client use.

Please bear with me during this time, I’ll try to keep disruptions to an absolute minimum where possible.

I still have appointments available prior to the 6th so please book in if you would like to be seen ❤️

Lipoedema Western Australia are holding a FREE event this Saturday between 3-5pm to launch their video “What we wish we knew when we were first diagnosed” in celebration of Lipoedema Awareness Month. Guest speaker Cath Beer from Edit and Style Perth will be presenting tips and tricks on how to dress confidently when you have Lipoedema. There will be opportunities to speak to others in the Lipoedema community as well as Lymphoedema Therapists like myself.

Hi everyone we are now all settled into our new house/clinic and are taking bookings. Our Hicaps terminal isn’t being installed until next Monday so for this week payment is via cash or bank transfer.

📣📣📣 Annoucement 📣📣 📣

It’s been a while since my last post and there’s been a lot happening behind the scenes.

I am moving house next weekend to Huntingdale and as this is quite some distance away from where I’ve been working from in Spearwood I have come to the decision to run the clinic from my new house. Unfortunately continuing to work from Spearwood won’t be feasible given the amount of time it will take me to commute back and forth from my new house.

I will be be in Spearwood this week and operating from my new location starting Thursday the 5th of June. Please bear with my during the transition time.

I understand that for some this will be too far to travel for treatment so please feel free to get in touch with me if you would like the details of some other Remedial Massage & Lymphatic Therapists around the Spearwood area.

Today is World Lymphoedema Day and this week in March is Lymphoedema Awareness Week.

Lymphoedema is the term given to swelling resulting from malfunction of the lymphatic
system. It can affect people of all ages, whether as a result of underdeveloped
lymphatics, or due to damage to the lymph system from cancer treatment or trauma. It
impacts adversely on the physical, emotional, social and financial wellbeing of people
living with the condition.
The Lymphoedema Association Australia (LAA) is a charity aiming to ensure people living
with lymphoedema get the information, treatment and support they need to live well,
regardless of where they live.

At Perth Lymphatic and Remedial Therapy we not only treat people living with Lymphoedema, Sarah also lives with Lymphoedema herself.

We are closed and will return to the clinic for a half day on Tuesday the 31st of December and operating normal hours from the 2nd of January. We are fully booked on the 31st and 2nd but do have some spaces free on Friday the 3rd of January between 10am-2pm if you would like and appointment.

We have some exciting news to share……

Today Sarah starts training with her new Guide Dog, Bronte who is a sweet little black Labrador. As a result she will be out of the clinic for this week and will have reduced clinic hours for the next few weeks as the training process takes 3-4 weeks. Bronte is already fully trained, it’s Sarah who is being trained 😊.

You’ll all get to meet Bronte in time and we advise you on Guide Dog etiquette when the time comes.

Tomorrow I will be presenting at the annual Lipoedema WA event. I’ll be reporting back on what I learnt from attending the Lipoedema Australia conference in June and will discussing nutrition, self care and wound care for Lipoedema.

Join us for our annual awareness afternoon to learn more about managing lipoedema.

We learnt a lot at the Lipoedema Australia conference in Melbourne, met some lovely people, had some great networking opportunities, discovered some new products and are looking forward to sharing some insights on these things with you all in the coming weeks.

We also co-sponsored a stall at the Perth Every Woman Expo over the weekend and whilst we couldn’t be there in person some of the lovely members of Lipoedema Western Australia were there educating the women of WA on all things Lipoedema and had a fantastic response with many new members joining our Lipoedema community.

Together we can all make a difference

Unfortunately we had planned on spending a few days in the Victorian high country for a much needed holiday but had to fly back to Perth on Tuesday as our much loved cat had a medical emergency that caused his health to rapidly deteriorate and we flew home in time to say goodbye to him yesterday afternoon. Whilst Sarah will be in the clinic on Friday she may not be her usual cheerful and talkative self for a while so please don’t take it personally if she’s not as bubbly as usual. We thank you for your understanding.
