Join Us for a Free Community Walk โ€“ Celebrating Refugee Week ๐Ÿงก

The Kin Team is walking throughout June as part of the Big Walk 4 Refugees, showing our support for refugee rights in Australia. To mark the end of this month-long effort, weโ€™re inviting the community to join us for a final walk at Lake Monger on Thursday 26 June at 2pm.

We'll walk one lap around the lake (3.5km) to stand in solidarity with refugees and people seeking asylum, and raise awareness about the importance of safety, belonging, and community for all.

๐ŸŒ The Big Walk 4 Refugees is a national initiative during Refugee Week, calling on us to walk together to amplify refugee voices, challenge misinformation, and advocate for a fairer future.

Everyone is welcome โ€” come for the full lap or join for as much as youโ€™re comfortable with!

๐Ÿ“ง Register your interest by emailing: admin@kinadvocacy.org.au

Today marks 28 years since the release of the Bringing Them Home report, a landmark call for truth, justice, and healing for the Stolen Generations.
Yet, only 6% of its recommendations have been implemented.

We must do better.

At Kin, we remain committed to listening, learning, and advocating for meaningful change. We reflect on the injustices of the past to ensure they are not repeated, and we stand in solidarity with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples in the ongoing journey toward truth and reconciliation.

We acknowledge the Traditional Owners of the land on which we live, work, and play, and pay our deepest respects to Elders past, present, and emerging.
