Starting in May, we're launching a 12-month trial of our Safer Exchange Sites initiative at 679 Beaufort Street, Mount Lawley. This site offers a well-lit, public space designed to provide a safer environment for exchanges, whether you're buying, selling, or picking up an item.
Inspired by the successful Victoria Police trial in 2022, the site includes features such as CCTV, lighting, public parking, and convenient access to public transport. While these elements aim to enhance security, users should remain mindful and take appropriate precautions during exchanges.
With support from Western Australia Police Force and our Crime Prevention Advisory Group, this initiative is focused on fostering safer interactions in community spaces. During the trial, we invite community members and local businesses to share their feedback through a survey—accessible via QR code signs on-site—to help shape the future of Safer Exchange Sites.
