Last week, our allied health staff came together for their third Professional Development Day of the year.

We were joined by guest presenter Heidi Brandis from PDA Training Australia to deepen our understanding of Pathological Demand Avoidance (PDA) and how to best support the individuals and families we work with.

These days are all about investing in our team, because when they thrive, so do the children and communities we support.

We’re thrilled this year’s Officeworks Appeal has raised an incredible $29,770 for Kids Are Kids!

These funds will make a huge difference, aiding us in our mission to help children learn, grow and flourish through therapy and family support.

A huge thank you to all the Officeworks employees over the participating stores for such an incredible result.

On Friday morning, we held our annual Therapy Scholarship Panel to allocate this year’s scholarships to children in need across Western Australia.

We received 77 applications and, with a record 21 scholarships available, the panel had the challenging task of selecting the successful recipients. We thank the panel members, including our valued sponsors, for their time and thoughtful contributions to the process.

The Therapy Scholarship Program relies on the continued support of our partners, sponsors and supporters. We extend our heartfelt appreciation to the Grant Thornton Foundation, The Yellow Umbrella Foundation, James Galvin Foundation, The Wheeler Foundation, Officeworks, the Rotary Club of Como and our private donors for making it possible for the 2025–26 Therapy Scholarship Program to support more families than ever across WA.

Twenty-one children will now receive the therapy support they require. Their families will be notified by the end of July.

At Kids Are Kids!, we take children's feedback very seriously. This is a sample of recent suggestions from our clients.

✅ One spinning chair per child (no sharing—obviously).
✅ An indoor pool
✅ A new, bigger, playground
✅ A small toy for each child participating in every group program

We're currently in talks with architects, engineers and a unicorn to assess feasibility. 🦄✨

Until then, we'll do our best to continue delivering quality therapy—minus the pool (for now). 💪

💙 Thanks to our little legends for keeping our ideas BIG 💙

When life is busy, our mental health often slips down the list of priorities.

When we look after our own wellbeing, we’re better equipped to support the people around us — at home, at work, and in our communities.

Take the free Act Belong Commit quiz to check in with yourself, and to have a look at ways that you can look after your mental health
