It’s with a heavy heart that I share the news of my dear friend Charlie’s passing.

If you’ve practiced yoga with me or joined one of our hikes or events, there’s a good chance you’ve met Charlie. She had a deep love for yoga, nature, and hiking, and was a constant supporter of everything I did.

Alongside our friend Chris, Charlie and I were completing a sectional end-to-end of the Bibbulmun Track—a journey full of laughs, stories, and quiet moments. Our families have spent countless hours together outdoors: camping, beach days, and working in gardens—through her beautiful work in garden design.

Charlie’s warmth, humour, and generous spirit will be deeply missed.

If you feel called to support her family during this difficult time, a GoFundMe page has been set up and every donation, no matter how small, will go directly towards helping them with daily living costs, emotional and practical support for Dylan, and the space to simply be together. You can find it here:

✨Thank you to everyone who joined our first Moonlit Mindfulness: Hiking Yoga Stargazing event—it was truly a magical evening of movement, connection, and gratitude.✨

As we flowed through gentle movement and sat in quiet reflection, the night sky reminded us of the beauty in stillness and the power of appreciation.

May we carry this sense of gratitude forward, finding light in simple moments.

What was your favorite moment from the evening? Share below! 💙

Keep an eye on our socials for future events. I'm excited and grateful for all to come.

I'm very grateful to be covering a class at the Bloom Yoga studio in Kingsley.

I've spent many hours practicing at this studio and with the beautiful Sara starting with a beginner's yoga series 12 years ago and moving through pregnancy yoga, mums and bubs, 6am outdoor, blissful restorative practice and then my 350 hour teacher training.

My life is infinitely better for having found Sara and this space. Even though I don't get to practice here very often at the moment, it will always hold a place in my heart and it's an honour to return as a teacher.

If you haven't attended a class at Bloom before I encourage you to check it out.

This long weekend I had the pleasure of attending yet another (I think my sixth) Nannup Music Festival.

Looking through the three photos I took all weekend I find myself laughing.

My photos don't feature a single band though I partied, laughed, and danced myself silly to so many fabulous ones.

I didn't capture on film any of the scenery though I bathed in its beauty as I spent many happy hours basking in filtered sunlight under the majestic Karris and soaking up the energy of the earth.

My images don't show my morning yoga practice to ethereal vocals and electronica or making nature-based crafts or eating delicious food, though I did all of those things.

I guess that's what happens when you're fully in the moment with so many of your favourite people. My few photos show friends laughing and delighting in each other's presence and I wouldn't have it any other way.

My feet are still grubby,my body is bone-tired, and my ears may still be ringing a little but my cup and heart are full 💖

Thanks   - you've done it again.

(Also thanks for the photos I've nabbed from friends - I really did take only three!)

Not feeling it this Christmas? Then this post is for you.

Christmas has never been my favourite time of year. For many and varied reasons I've never been someone who eagerly counts down the days until the one snowflake glitter-lined climax that bursts with a bountiful of delicious food, paper-wrapped wonder, and smiling faces.

I've often felt that I was missing the instruction manual for this season of joy. Too frequently I'd (both metaphorically and literally) been the one standing with an Allen key in a room full of pieces wondering at the purpose and meaning of all the fuss

But then I worked through some of my baggage and life surprised me with two wonderful and consequtive Christmases that made me think maybe there was something for me in this holiday after all. I could pick and choose the bits that resonated and leave the rest. I approached this season, if not eagerly, then at least without the usual grudging resignation.

This year's lesson - expectation is a bitch.

So when I find myself at home with a head cold, doing the millionth Christmas craft with a disappointed kiddo while my post-Christmas party husband sleeps on the couch or scrolling social media thinking everyone is having more fun than I am, I'm grateful that I'm learning the art of the pause.

The pause to find hilarity in reading captions on a Russian instructional video for the way harder than expected project that was meant to make up for missed Christmas events.

The pause to find compassion for my bored yet overstimulated dog who cannot accept that the neighbours have the nerve to entertain in their back garden and is very vocal about it.

The pause to find the strength to spend time on the mat (even if it's in modified child's pose) and the wisdom in going back to bed.

The pause to find joy in curling up together in bed to watch a crappy movie, revelling in the closeness if not the content.

I'm grateful for this crappy Christmas.

I can live with this.

Sending love and at least "OK vibes"

❤️ Sarah x
