When providers genuinely meet NDIS Practice Standards and place participants at the centre of everything they do, it’s more than compliance; it’s a good culture.

It signals to participants, families, and the sector:
📌We’re accountable.
📌We’re transparent.
📌We’re here for the right reasons.

This approach creates lasting trust and sets the tone for ethical, high-quality service delivery, especially in areas like housing, where the commitment to “forever homes” demands integrity at every level.

At Emery Healthcare, in every referral, service, and decision, we choose integrity. Because when participants feel confident in our services, empowered by real choice, and driven by their needs, everyone wins.

𝙉𝙊 𝙒𝙝𝙚𝙚𝙡𝙨, 𝙉𝙊 𝙎𝙩𝙧𝙚𝙨𝙨. 𝙏𝙍𝙔 𝙏𝙚𝙡𝙚𝙝𝙚𝙖𝙡𝙩𝙝 (𝙉𝘿𝙄𝙎 𝙀𝙙𝙞𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣)

Telehealth under the NDIS offers a flexible, participant-centred way to access supports remotely; via video, phone, or secure messaging. It’s not just a convenience; it’s a lifeline for many participants, especially those in rural areas, with mobility challenges, or navigating complex health needs.

More than just a backup! Telehealth is a legit way to meet your goals from wherever you feel safest. Whether you’re building confidence, routines, or communication skills, or just in a remote area, supports can come to you.

1. EXAMPLES OF WHAT YOU CAN USE TELEHEALTH FOR:
- Psychology and Counselling.
- Speech therapy ( yes, even over Zoom!).
- Exercise physiology.
- Occupational Therapy.
- Support coordination.
- Behaviour support via TelePBS.

“My psychologist sees me weekly through video. It's helped me stay on track without leaving home.” - Participant, WA.

2: WHAT SHOULD BE IN YOUR PLAN?
- Are these supports in your plan under 'Core' or 'Capacity Building'?
- Does telehealth suit your goals and circumstances?
- Have you agreed on this format with your provider?
If you're unsure, ask your support coordinator or LAC to help review.

“Once I knew telehealth was covered, my provider added it to my sessions. No drama, just support.” - Participant, VIC.

3. WHAT GEAR DO YOU NEED?
- A tablet, laptop, or phone.
- A stable internet connection.
- Access to secure platforms ( Zoom, Teams, etc.).

You can ask for 'low-cost AT funding' through your plan. If the tech helps you access supports, it’s considered reasonable.

“My LAC helped me apply for a tablet—now I never miss a therapy session.” - Participant, VIC.

4. MAKE IT YOURS
- Choose a quiet, familiar comfy spot.
- Let providers know what works: breaks, visuals, camera on or off.
- Headphones or captions can help with focus and understanding.

“Being home helps me stay regulated. I speak more, and I don’t feel like I have to perform.” - Participant, TAS.

5. KEEP TRACK after each session. Note:
- What did you work on?
- How did you feel?
- What helped or didn’t?
It helps tailor your support and keeps your goals front and centre.

“My journal keeps things honest. Even the rough days show progress.” - Participant, WA.

If telehealth sounds helpful, start the convo.
Ask your provider, support coordinator or LAC about updating your goals or adding supports.

This is about your comfort, autonomy, and progress on your terms.

It's not about choosing one over the other. It's about prioritising your goals and protecting your right to thrive.

FORMAL SUPPORTS
- Paid supports are funded in your plan.
- Delivered by trained professionals.
- Help with personal care, therapies, community access, daily activities and assistive devices.
- Must be reasonable and necessary under NDIS guidelines.

INFORMAL SUPPORTS
- Unpaid help from family, friends, or your community.
- Often part of your day-to-day routines, such as cooking, cleaning, and getting to appointments.
- Can be wonderful and reliable, but not always sustainable long term.

Poorly managed conflicts reduce participant autonomy, erode trust, and can result in non-compliance. A conflict of interest isn’t just about what’s done, it’s also about how it’s seen. Even perceived bias could impact the provider's duty to put the participant first.

At Emery Healthcare, we’re proud to align with the 2025-26 NDIA updates, ensuring our operations reflect more than policy; they reflect purpose.

Our commitment includes:
• Transparent disclosure of affiliations and potential biases.
• Clear separation of roles across plan management, support coordination, and direct supports.
• Respect for participant choice; always.

𝙏𝙪𝙧𝙣 𝘾𝙝𝙖𝙣𝙜𝙚𝙨 𝙞𝙣𝙩𝙤 𝘾𝙝𝙤𝙞𝙘𝙚𝙨

The updated NDIS Pricing Arrangements and Price Limits (PAPL) are live on July 1st! And with them come big opportunities to take charge of your plan.

Parents, this one's for you.
1. Review:
Grab the new 2025–26 PAPL guide and circle the items that impact your child's supports. Want more hours or different services? This is your starting line.

2. Good News!
The early childhood age limit just jumped from 7 to 9 years old. That’s extra time for ECEI support! If your child’s 8 or 9, talk to your support coordinator or LAC about what’s now available to you.

3. New prices = new potential!
Use the updated support catalogue to reshuffle your support hours or explore new ways to meet your goals.
Turn info into action, ask questions, and get what your child needs.

Here’s how to use NDIS safeguards to prepare for a weather emergency:
1. Note your key supports, medical needs, equipment, and how to stay safe if services are delayed.

2. Share it with your support team, and make sure everyone knows their role.

Rain Ready Kit:
3. Meds, torch, charger, warm layers, and essential food snacks.

4. NDIS plan copy, ID, and essential assistive tech.

5. Communication tools that work even in low light.

Emergency contacts:
6. Family, carers & support workers.

7. Your support coordinator, GP, or specialist.

8. Energy provider (if you use life-sustaining equipment).

9. Local SES or emergency services.

Finding the right support team is key to feeling at home, and we match participants with experienced support workers who understand your goals, values, and routine. Need active support around the clock? We provide tailored support hours, from daytime skill-building and social engagement to overnight assistance for safety and reassurance.

Plus, location matters! Our SIL services place you close to public transport, medical centres, shopping hubs, and social spaces, making it easier to access everything you need to thrive.

The latest NDIS update introduces fairer pricing models and structured funding allocations to ensure participants receive equitable, needs-based .

Fairer Pricing Adjustments: From July 2025, NDIS pricing will align with Medicare and private health rates, eliminating inflated costs for therapy supports.

Structured Funding Components: Instead of lump-sum allocations, funding will be broken down into goal-specific categories, improving transparency and accountability.

Funding Periods: Support budgets will be released in set timeframes (monthly, quarterly, biannually), ensuring participants can plan effectively.

Market Sustainability: The NDIA will continue monitoring provider pricing to maintain quality, affordability, and accessibility.

This shift reduces administrative burdens, enhances flexibility, and ensures funding reflects real needs, reinforcing the principles of autonomy, accessibility, and participant-driven care.
