💚Nothing beats coming together as a community 💚

Today’s BBQ was a beautiful reminder of why community connection and initiatives matter 🤗👏

We love creating opportunities where participants, families and other local disability providers can meet in a relaxed environment that fosters genuine connections 💚🙏

Thank you to everyone who joined us and to the providers who continue to collaborate and support inclusive spaces alongside us! Were proud to be part of such a connected and supportive community 🙌🤗

✨Proof that it’s never too late to try again ✨

Recently we headed to the beautiful Rainbow Beach for a day trip ☀️ And one of our incredible clients living with multiple sclerosis (MS) did something truly special… she went into the ocean for the first time in over 13 years 🌊

For her, walking into that water meant more than anyone else could see. It was about saying “I can” after years of “maybe not” and showing herself that her MS doesn’t get to decide what she can and can’t experience 🙏🏻

She hopes her experience inspires others living with MS to give things a go, even if it feels scary, even if it’s been a long time and even if you’re unsure. You never know what beautiful moments are waiting on the other side of “I’ll try” 😊

💚☀️ COMMUNITY BBQ & PICNIC NEXT WEEK! 💚☀️

Bring your picnic rugs, gather your mates, and come along for a relaxed, fun-filled day at Seafront Oval, Hervey Bay!

Next Wednesday, the 25th, from 11am–2pm we’ll be firing up the BBQ 🌭, serving up refreshing drinks, and most importantly sharing plenty of laughs and great company 😊

🏖️☀️ A day we’ll be talking about for a while 🌊💚

Last Friday our Heroes headed off to Rainbow Beach for a social outing adventure 😊🙌🏻

This wasn’t just a typical “group activity”, it was genuine connections, confidence building and friendships forming naturally 🌊🤍 For some, it was even their very first time experiencing the beach with others and exploring together 😊

We were also lucky to have some of the team from Planet Support Services join us for the day, adding to the fun, support and great energy that made the outing so special 🤍

Watching everyone support each other, try new things and simply enjoy being together was pretty special. Days like this really highlight how powerful shared experiences can be 💪🏻

✨ Making the most of short stays!! ✨

Our recent Short Term Accommodation stay in Brisbane was all about building independence, confidence and community participation 💚🙌🏻

Through supported travel, exploring new environments and maintaining daily routines away from home, the participant was able to develop important life skills while enjoying a change of scenery in a safe and supported way 🌆☀️

STA/STR offers more than just a break. When done well, it’s an opportunity for growth, learning and genuine empowerment 💚

☀️What a perfect way to kick of 2026! 🌭

Today we had our first BBQ of 2026! It was a great sunny day for us to get together as a community and finish up the first month of 2026 right! Community BBQ’s are always a good time with good conversations and fun games 😊

This BBQ was extra special though, as we got to enjoy great live music brought by Planet Support Services 🎸🎶 There was even an opportunity for everyone to have a go at playing some of the instruments themselves! It made an already great BBQ even more interactive and enjoyable 😁

Thank you to everyone who came along today! As always, it was lovely to see you all 😊👋

🌭🎶 Good vibes, great food and live tunes coming your way! 🎶🌭

Come hang out with us next week at the Seafront Oval from 11am–2pm for a fun-filled afternoon in the sunshine, with a free sausage sizzle, fairy bread, cold drinks and plenty of good vibes and great company! 🌭☀️🎉

And as an added bonus… our friends at Planet Support Services will be bringing along some special live music, plus a range of instruments for people to have a play, try something new and experience the joy of making music! 🎸🥁🎤

This is a super relaxed, inclusive event for people with disabilities, their families, friends, supports and the whole community.

No RSVP, no pressure – just turn up, grab some food, enjoy the music and hang out with us 🌟

👏 A big milestone and a great way to give back 👏

This week one of our participants had their very first day volunteering with his support team right by his side 🌟

Being able to attend with a support worker on site can make all the difference! It helps ease anxiety, build confidence and create a safe space to try something new, knowing someone is there to support, encourage and guide when needed 😊 This kind of support opens up opportunities that might otherwise feel too overwhelming, allowing people to step into roles that build independence, skills and self-belief 💚

Volunteering is such a powerful way to grow personally while also giving back to the community and we’re so proud to support our participant as he takes on this new challenge 🙌

🐒 From big smiles to curious creatures, our zoo day was a winner 🦓

We recently headed out for a zoo adventure and had an absolute blast exploring, laughing and enjoying the animals together. It was a full day exploring and stopping at each enclosure to enjoy all the amazing animals! The meerkats were a definite favourite and kept us entertained with their curious little personalities 😄🐾

Outings like these are a great way to get out into the community and create memories that last 💚

✨ 2025, what a year! ✨

As we look back on this year, we’re feeling incredibly proud of everything that’s been shared, achieved and celebrated at My Hero 😁 From big outings and exciting activities to the everyday moments that mattered just as much, this year was full of meaningful experiences.

There were adventures, new skills learned, goals reached, laughs shared and so many proud moments along the way 🙌✨The everyday wins were just as important too, like trying something new, building confidence and taking steps forward in ways that were unique to each person 😊

Everyone had something to celebrate this year, and that’s what made 2025 so amazing 💫 Thank you to our participants, support workers, families and community for being part of it all 🤍 We can’t wait to see what’s in store next year! 💚✨

💚 Community Spirit At It’s Best 💚

Today’s Community BBQ was extra special as it marked our final BBQ for the year, and what a way to finish! 🌭✨ With good food and even better company, it was the perfect chance to celebrate an incredible year filled with laughs, connection and so many great memories 😁💫

We want to say a huge thank you to everyone who joined us throughout the year. Your smiles, conversations and positive energy are what make these BBQs so meaningful, and we’re so grateful for every single person who came along 🤩 Here’s to an amazing year behind us and even more good times ahead.
