At Ngara Wellbeing, we strive to create spaces for truth telling, healing, and connection. January 26th is a day to reflect on our shared history, acknowledge the truth, and honour the strength of First Nations peoples.

This January 26th, let’s commit to listening, learning, and working together toward meaningful reconciliation. Sovereignty was never ceded. 👣❤️💛🖤

🌿✨ Self-Care Sunday: Embrace Nature✨🌿

Happy Sunday, everyone! As we step into a new week, let’s take a moment to pause and indulge in some much-needed self-care. This week, Ngara Wellbeing & Thawun Aboriginal Consultancy are inviting you to reconnect with Mother Earth. 🌳💚

Walking through nature is not just a way to exercise, it’s a powerful form of self-care that nurtures both the mind and body. Whether it’s a stroll through your local park, a hike on a nearby trail, or just a walk around your neighborhood, the benefits are endless!

Share your nature walk experiences with us! Tag us in your photos and let us know how you practice self-care.💚

Self-care is NOT selfish!

🌿 World Mental Health Day 🌿

Today, on World Mental Health Day, we’re reflecting on the importance of holistic wellbeing and the incredible strength found in First Nations cultural practices. At Ngara, we believe that healing goes beyond the mind – it’s about connecting to Country, culture, and community.

Our ancestors have practiced holistic healing for over 65,000 years. Through programs like Deadly Thinking and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Mental Health First Aid, we empower individuals and communities to support one another in culturally safe spaces, where everyone feels heard and valued.

Let’s continue to empower ourselves and those around us through connection and culture. Together, we can break down the stigma around mental health and build stronger, healthier communities.

What do you do for your mental health and wellbeing ?

𝗟𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗻 𝗙𝗶𝗿𝘀𝘁 🍂

Just like we take time to listen to Country, we should approach our conversations with First Nations communities in the same way - by really listening.
When you’re on Country, you use all your senses to feel the land’s stories and wisdom. We can bring that same deep listening to our interactions with each other.

Next time you’re having a conversation, take a step back. Listen to understand, not just to respond. Be open, patient, and truly hear what’s being shared. It’s through this genuine listening that strong, meaningful relationships are built ✨
