✨ A New Chapter for Forest of Wisdom ✨

From our humble beginnings at the markets to opening our beautiful Picton shopfront in December 2016, the past 9 years have been one of the most meaningful chapters of our lives.

As a mother-and-daughter business, Forest of Wisdom has always been more than just a shop. It has been a sacred space. A place of calm. A place of connection. A place where so many of you have shared your stories, your growth, and your journeys with us. Hearing you say this is your “favourite shop” or that you feel safe and peaceful here has meant more to us than words can ever express.

With full hearts (and some tears), we are sharing that Forest of Wisdom will be closing our Picton shopfront on Sunday the 29th of March 2026.

This decision has not been an easy one. Rising costs of living, rent, stock expenses, and a decline in sales have all played a part. Louise is ready to step into retirement, and I (Katie) am being called toward the next phase of my journey — focusing on my studies and career in counselling and psychology.

While this chapter is closing, our story isn’t ending. We will continue to offer a small range online at

Over the coming weeks, we would truly love your support. If you have been meaning to visit, purchase something special, or simply come in for one last chat and hug — now is the time. Your support as we close this chapter will help us step forward into our new beginnings.

❤️BILLIE NEEDS YOUR HELP❤️

Billie has been in our care for a few months now, raising her babies Biggy & Sockie, as well as taking on some other bubba’s who came into care without their mum.🐾

As is the case for most adult cats that come into care, we don’t know how old Billie is, however she is showing signs of major dental disease and is facing a potential full mouth extraction. 🦷

Currently her gums are so inflamed they are causing her pain and so she needs a dental including teeth extractions in order to be pain free and resolve her dental disease.

So, we need your help!🙏🏻

Billie’s vet bill is going to be a big one, and so we need you.

At only around 10 months-of-age, young Jerry Freckle is still hoping to find a wonderful, safe, indoor home for life after he was found living on the streets as a kitten. He's thriving in his foster home and LOVES his foster carers and the other foster cats & kittens
