3 things I wish I was told as a teenager…

1. Until you work on your gut and hormones, the acne will keep coming back
2. The OCP isn’t going to fix your issues, it is only going to mask them
3. The fake tan, fragrant body lotions and perfumes are only worsening your issues

May be awkward for others but as naturopath I’m pretty sure I ask this in every consult. Ensuring digestion is optimal and regular is so important!

It’s a form of detoxing and if you are not going daily then this means toxins are being reabsorbed back into the body.

Ways to improve this: our bowels
- ��increasing fibre to 30grams daily - fruit, veges, beans, lentils, nuts and seeds
- ��move your body regularly
- avoid sitting for long periods: stand up and go for a little walk or move the body around through stretching every hour
- ��drink 2-3L of water daily
- ��better toilet habits: don’t ignore urges and use a foot stool

1. Endometriosis and SIBO (small intestinal bacteria overgrowth) are closely linked. Once you address your gut issues, liver support and reducing inflammmation, then you will find your endometriosis can be more manageable.

2. Your skin is your largest organ and is why you will find your skin will show you some of the first signs that somethings wrong. When you are experiencing skin congestion and acne this is telling you that your gut needs some TLC, liver needs assistance with detoxing and your lymphatic system needs movement daily!

3. Menopause is already a tough time for women. So as a naturopath I work with women to support their gut and liver health to ensure they are preventing endotoxins releasing into the body causing insulin issues and disrupting hormones more then change that is already happening.
