Lauren Short is the founder of Heart of the Hunter, a holistic health and wellness business based in the Hunter Valley, New South Wales. With a background in corporate credit management across London and Sydney, Lauren transitioned to pursue her passion for holistic health and fitness. She holds certifications as a Meditation Therapist, specializing in children's meditation and stress management, and as a 200-hour certified Yoga Teacher with additional training in Trauma-Informed Restorative Yoga. Additionally, Lauren is a qualified Personal Trainer and a Usui and Holy Fire Reiki Practitioner (Level 1 & 2), integrating energy healing into her practice. She also advocates for low-tox living as a brand partner for Young Living Australia, promoting natural, plant-based products. Heart of the Hunter offers a range of services, including meditation therapy, yoga classes, personal training, embodied movement, dance, low-tox education, essential oil workshops, and stress management seminars. These services are available through group activities, one-on-one sessions, health retreats, and workshops, aiming to empower individuals to achieve health, happiness, and strength by connecting mind, body, and soul. Lauren's inspiration stems from her grandfather's battle with dementia, which highlighted the importance of good nutrition, regular exercise, and minimizing chemical exposure through a low-tox lifestyle. Every person on this planet is vibrating at a very subtle hertz frequency rate or their personal vibration analysis. We have a base metabolic rate when at rest, but when events start happening in our lives and our emotions are engaged our vibrational rate changes rapidly and often dramatically.

From the moment we are born our emotions are engaged and our mind then starts learning defense reactions, which are imprinted and stored deep in the mind’s recesses.

As we move through each experience in life most of our reactions become automatic, often negative, emotional reactions as a learned habit. Our own behavior seems uncontrollable. In Western society we are not taught at home or in our education system how to view each life experience separately and appropriately, how to learn from those experiences, process them and let go the negative emotions, without emotional blocks appearing inhibiting our choices in both behavior and also activities we could enjoy participating in but don’t due to fears that have emotionally engaged with.

These negative emotions become stored—we literally are programmed until that program is dissolved and replaced by another. By the time we are an adult we have had so many unresolved experiences that many of our responses are automatically negative, and then perpetuate events for not the best outcome serving only to reinforce our initial learning from a time long ago—we are caught in a negative emotional events cycle often based on long-forgotten past memories.

Once in these negative cycles, negative events and consequent negative emotional reactions become more and more frequent—a natural life lesson occurrence triggered to keep giving you opportunities to see the pattern, process it and dissolve it using the vibration analysis.

Breaking negative cycles is paramount in raising your emotional state to mainly experiencing higher frequency vibration emotions such as joy, love, acceptance—this begins by making the decision, using your Will, that you no longer wish to behave in this way.

Sometimes it's so hard to bear witness to everything that's been happening around us lately.

And, and, and —
I am so often heartened by the creativity, kindness, unabashed generosity and silliness I see when I open social media.

Please, honor your feelings,
grieve,
stomp, wail, journal til your hand cramps,
and respect your anger.
Because that will keep your spark alive.
Feel it, express it, move it.
And remember that your spark contains it all —
the depths of pain and sorrow,
as well as the eruptions of glee, tender warmth, and generous (and boundaried) compassion we will continue to offer to those who may not "deserve" it, by karmic standards.

And when I see people who are fully alive,
it reminds me of my own wholeness,
it evokes tears of gratitude for my own little existence.
Your aliveness is a mirror that helps me connect to my own deeper experience.
Because we are inherently relational creatures.
We help each other,
and we hurt each other.
And we heal each other.

Motherhood has taught me to listen 👂 not just to my little one, but to myself too.

Some days, when Si Si is asleep, I feel it deep in my body… that quiet nudge telling me it’s time to pause, to breathe, to just be. So I take it. A moment in the hammock, sunlight on my skin, nothing to do but rest and refill.

Because the truth is, we can’t pour from an empty cup. I say it to my clients all the time: you have to put your oxygen mask on first. And I’m learning to live by that too.

Rest isn’t a luxury. It’s part of the work. 🤍💫
