What is TENS?

TENS stands for Transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation. It is an effective method of pain relief involving the use of a mild electrical current. The user attaches electrode pads to the effected part of the body and then switches on the TENS Machine. The TENS machine passes small electrical impulses to the affected area of your body, this is where the user feels a tingling sensation similar to pins and needles. These tingling sensations which are the electrical impulses reduce the pain signals going to the bodies spinal cord and brain, which help to relieve pain and relax the muscles. They also stimulate the production of endorphins, which are the body's natural painkillers.
This makes the TENS machine effective for pain relief during labour. Especially if you are wanting something to make you more comfortable and prolong your time at home.

4 week hire - $60
8 week hire - $80

We have local pick-up, drop off or postage available. Postage is $9.95 on top of hire fee which includes a pre-paid Australia post satchel for returning of the machine.

Hire fee includes;
- Elle TENS machine
- 2x batteries
- Easy release neck cord
- 4x NEW self-adhesive electrodes - single person use
- 2x lead-wires
- Instruction Manual
- Pre-paid Australia Post satchel for returning the device if postage is selected.

Should I choose the 4 week or 8 week hire?

Our 8 week hire is recommended for peace of mind to cover you through the most common weeks you could go into labour, plus a little extra to get it back you us in time. We recommend selecting a date to start hire roughly a month before your baby's due date. We will ensure the machine arrives on or as close as possible to the date you selected to begin your hire. You then need to ensure the machine is returned 8 weeks later.

The 4 week hire option is available for those who are due sooner. For those who select the 4 week hire option ahead of time we recommend selecting a hire period start date as least 2-3 weeks before your baby's due date. We will schedule the machine to arrive on or as close as possible to that date.

It is important to pre-book your hire as we have limited machines.
Terms and conditions to be read and agreed upon will be emailed prior to confirmation of booking.
