NAIDOC Week 2025 – The Next Generation: Strength, Vision & Legacy

This NAIDOC Week, we join communities across the country in celebrating 50 years of resilience, culture, and leadership.

At Redeema, we honour the strength of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples—past, present and future. As an NDIS-registered disability services provider, we recognise the importance of culturally safe, community-led care and proudly support First Nations participants and families in achieving independent, empowered lives.

The 2025 NAIDOC theme, “The Next Generation: Strength, Vision & Legacy,” speaks to the incredible leadership emerging in young Indigenous people—shaped by the wisdom of Elders, and a legacy of justice and self-determination.

This week, and every week, we listen, learn, and walk alongside our First Nations communities with respect, inclusion and hope.

🌼 Not all disabilities are visible. Globally, around 1 in 6 people live with disability, and estimates suggest that up to 80% have a non-visible condition.* These are conditions that may not be immediately apparent but can significantly affect a person’s daily life. Some examples include autism, chronic pain, mental health conditions like PTSD, anxiety, depression, diabetes, epilepsy, dysautonomia, POTS, and more.

The Hidden Disabilities Sunflower is a simple, voluntary symbol that helps people discreetly indicate they may need extra time, understanding, or support. 🌻

At Redeema, we recognise that everyone’s needs are different—and not always visible. We’re committed to care and connection that respects the whole person, seen and unseen.

It’s World Continence Week — an important reminder that continence health is part of living well, yet it’s often overlooked. “Incontinence is a common health issue that can have a significant impact on a person’s physical, emotional and social wellbeing.” - Jim Cooper, CEO Continence Health Australia.

At Redeema, we support people to live with dignity, choice, and comfort — and that includes understanding the impact continence issues can have on daily life.
