Today is World Social Work Day 💛

A day to recognise the heart, dedication, and unwavering commitment of social workers everywhere.

Social work is more than a job — it’s showing up in the hard moments, holding space for families, advocating when voices aren’t heard, and believing in children even when the world feels overwhelming for them.

It’s sitting alongside, not fixing.

Listening deeply, not rushing.

Building connection, not control.

I feel incredibly proud to be part of this profession — both in my role within education and through my work at Inspire My Play 🌼

To the social workers who give so much of themselves every day… I see you, I respect you, and I’m so grateful for the work you do.

And to the families who trust us — thank you for letting us walk alongside you 💛

Spotted this little daisy mug at Coles today and couldn’t resist 🌼

If you know Inspire My Play, you know daisies are kind of our thing.

They remind me of what play therapy is all about — gentle growth, small moments of joy, and creating safe spaces where children can bloom.

Daisies are often seen as a symbol of healing, hope, and new beginnings.

It’s the little things. 🌼🌸🌼

🌼 Big news for Inspire My Play! 🌼

We have a new home!

After many Saturdays of unpacking and packing the trailer, Inspire My Play now has a dedicated space where the playroom can stay set up and ready for children.

This means more time and energy focused on what matters most, supporting children through play. 💛

I’m so excited to welcome families into this beautiful new space.

Can you guess where our new playroom is located? 👀

Not all feelings look the same.
Some feel loud.
Some feel heavy.
Some feel confusing.
Some feel joyful.

In the playroom, every feeling is welcome.
Children don’t need to be “calm” or “ready” or “good” to begin healing.

They just need a space where their emotions can exist safely.

Through child-centred play therapy, children can:

✨ Express big feelings
✨ Explore complex experiences
✨ Build emotional understanding
✨ Feel seen without being judged

Because when feelings are welcomed — growth follows.

Inspire My Play is growing, and I’m looking for a room to hire in Port Pirie that I can set up as a permanent play therapy space.

I only provide sessions on Saturdays — however, I’m hoping to find a room that I can keep set up full-time (so I’m not packing up and rebuilding a therapeutic space each week).

I’m looking for:
• A private, quiet room
• Space large enough for play therapy equipment
• Ability to leave the room set up
• Long-term arrangement preferred

If you know of a space (in a clinic, wellbeing centre, community building, office, or even a commercial space sitting unused on weekends), I would love to connect.

Please feel free to comment below or send me a private message.

Supporting children’s emotional wellbeing in our community means so much to me 💛

Thank you for sharing this post — word of mouth is powerful in regional towns.

I'm jumping on the trend and having a little fun. 😊

Play is how children communicate, and sometimes, adults get to have fun, too. 🌻

Hi, I'm Amanda 👋
I'm the face behind Inspire My Play.

I'm a play therapist based in Port Pirie, supporting children to express what words can't always say.

I believe behaviour is communication, and when children feel safe, seen, and understood, real change can begin. My work is child-centred and trauma-informed, which means children lead the way and play becomes the language we listen to.

I support children experiencing big feelings, anxiety, changes in behaviour, and the impact of trauma, and i support parents/carers too because this journey isn't meant to be walked alone.

If you're here because you're wondering how to best support your child, I'm really glad you found your way here.

Welcome to Inspire My Play 🤍

Play therapy supports children who are experiencing big feelings, changes, or challenges. Especially when words are hard to find.

In the playroom, children are given the time, space, and safety to express themselves in the way they know best: through play.

Play therapy doesn't rush, fix, or direct. It trusts the child's inner capacity for growth.

✨️ A new friend has arrived in the playroom ✨️

Every new toy brings new stories, feelings, and opportunities for expression.

Children don't just play with toys. They communicate through them.
