I’m excited to launch Unstuck Spaces, the consultancy and resource branch of Unstuck OT, focused on supporting spaces and systems to better meet the needs of neurodivergent people. This is a separate, business-facing space - while Unstuck OT continues to provide clinical OT services, Unstuck Spaces allows me to share practical resources and guidance for organisations, schools, and event organisers.

The first resource under this brand is Curating Calm, a professional, downloadable guide to temporary calming spaces for events.

This guide grew out of my OT work, where I noticed that many events are described as “inclusive” but don’t provide a clear plan for what happens when someone becomes overwhelmed and needs space to regulate.

Curating Calm walks through how to plan and set up a calming space that is:
– practical and realistic
– neuroaffirming (not tokenistic)
– suitable for temporary or pop-up use

It’s designed for organisations, schools, service providers, and event organisers who want a clear framework rather than starting from scratch. The guide is grounded in real-world constraints - temporary spaces, limited budgets, and environments you don’t fully control.

To mark the launch, an introductory discount is available for a short time.

For those wanting more hands-on support, the guide can be bundled with a 60-minute online consult focused on practical, achievable changes for real-world service settings.

A bit of mid week fun!

Inspired by a prompt shared in an OT Facebook group, I experimented with using AI to create a caricature that reflects my approach to OT

It captured something I really value: supporting regulation, using practical tools, and creating environments that help people participate in everyday life

A small but lovely prompt to reflect on how I practice

This seems appropriate to share for OT week

The best things that have happened in my life came about because I didn't get what I originally wanted. I'm seriously lucky that I get to do this work every day - all because I didn't get high enough marks to get into physio!

Happy OT week 🙂

I don’t say this because I was taught it at Uni.
I say it because I know it to be true.

𝑶𝒄𝒄𝒖𝒑𝒂𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏𝒔 𝒂𝒓𝒆 𝒎𝒆𝒅𝒊𝒄𝒊𝒏𝒆.

Every time I swim in the ocean, I feel it... the energy that moves through me.

When I connect with friends, when I write, when I work on my passion projects... something shifts.

When I run a few hill sprints and go for a run my body my whole physiology changes.
Heart rate, breathing, hormones, neurotransmitters.... all shift in response.
Circulation increases. Endorphins rise. Stress chemicals fall. My body remembers what regulation feels like.

When I get a good night’s sleep my concentration sharpens and my mood steadies.

The things we 𝒹𝑜 matter.

Occupation isn’t just about doing.
It’s not just any occupations.
It’s occupations that are 𝓪𝓵𝓲𝓰𝓷𝓮𝓭.

Everyone has their own unique occupational medicine.
What works for me, may not work for you.
Whats your occupational medicine?
And have you had your dose today? ✨ 🩷

This is shockingly bad. Today I walked along Peel Street and noticed the new “accessible” parking — great in theory except for the 10 out of 12 spaces I walked past being blocked by trees, poles, and café furniture at the rear of the parking space

People with mobility aids or rear ramps can’t even use them 🤦‍♀️

I’ve written to Council about this major accessibility blunder — full email is in the comments if you’d also like to advocate for Council to take another look at this epic fail

Parking changes are coming to the Tamworth CBD on Monday 13 October.

🎥Don't like reading? Check out my video in the comments where I explain the changes to parking

Here's what you need to know:
💲Peel Street - parking is now paid with a 1 hour limit
✅Fitzroy Street (near my office) - parking is still free with a 1 hour limit
🆓Ray Walsh House car park (access off Kable Avenue) will be free all day parking

🚗 Parking Strategy Updates 🚗

📍 The new parking meters throughout the CBD will begin operating from Monday 13 October 2025.

The meters will be cashless and ticketless, meaning you don’t have to walk back to your vehicle to display a ticket after you’ve paid.

They’re easy to use, simply;
Press the start button
Enter the vehicle’s number plate
Select the amount of time you’re staying for (within the maximum time period advertised)
Tap your card to pay
Alternatively, you can use the EasyPark app to pay.

Drivers who prefer to use cash are able to buy a prepaid Visa or Mastercard card from Australia Post or one of the major supermarkets.

📍 Alongside the introduction of the new meters, changes to some parking zones across the CBD will start rolling out from today, including updated time limits and restrictions. Drivers are again reminded to check signage carefully, including on weekends when some restrictions still apply.

To view our how-to guide for using the new meters or to see the full list of changes to parking zones in the CBD, please visit haveyoursay.tamworth.nsw.gov.au/parking-strategy

📣 Some changes are coming at Unstuck OT! Don’t worry - nothing scary. I’m trialling the use of AI notetaking to help me spend less time on paperwork and more time focusing on you.

This will always be optional - you get to choose whether AI is used for your notes. To keep things simple, I’ve created a new consent form that also covers privacy and telehealth.

There’s nothing you need to do beforehand - I’ll go through the form with you at your next session (or contact you individually if we meet online).

Is this my most professional video? Absolutely not.

Is it raw, authentic, and uncut? You bet.

I refuse to be polite when we are faced with lies that are designed to silence us

Panadol does not cause autism. Actually nothing that women do or don't do causes autism. Autistic people do not need to be eliminated or reduced. Women do not need more guilt.

I can't stop the bu****it, but I will not be silent

Here's some good news to end the week with - all parking in the Tamworth CBD is FREE as of tomorrow. Hope this makes finding a park near my office a little easier 🚗

🚗🚙 MORE FREE PARKING IN CBD 🚗🚙

In great news for drivers who park in the CBD, Tamworth Regional Council has taken all parking meters out of service effective from Monday 16 June, 2025.

This means that any drivers who would normally park in a Council off-street carpark with meter parking or use on-street meter parking, there's no need to pay.

However, time limits will still apply and any driver who is parked for longer than the time limit shown on signage may face fines.
